re: Todd Monken turns down LSU

It’s become a pissing match between Florida fans and LSU fans. You could just feel the OP’s giddiness in his post and inaccurate spin of the linked article.

Just glad we’ve got the better coach. So it’ll be fun to see them in the fall

Wonder do people know that he was a Les Miles disciple. Was the guy that gave us the best or 2nd best passing offense in LSU history with JaMarcus Russell in 2006.

Dude has always ran high powered pass offenses. This offensive problem they have is Kirby Smart’s doing.

Plus he's not going to want to go with Kelly because Kelly wants control of the offense too. I will say this though, personally I think he won't be as restricted as he is with Smart if he came here.

I don’t think “turns down LSU” means what I think you think it means.

1) discussed does not equal offered
2) expressed a desire to remain does not equal turns down.

Did Kelly make contact? I certainly hope so, and he apparently did. Was a job offered? Who knows? Was the possible job offer declined? Who knows?

It’s possible, if unlikely, that a job was offered and accepted.

One must understand that “discussed ... the position” and “expressed a desire to remain” are coach speak for meaningless answers. I mean they can mean anything from “we discussed it and I offered to I didn’t offer, and I said I’m not considering a possible offer to I sure desired to stay but I have to leave.

However you wanna look at it, his name is off the block for anyone in here who had it on their wishlist.

But I’d rather it be true. I want nothing that has the Kirby Shart smell still all over it. That guy doesn’t just ruin his teams chances of winning any big games, he ruins careers of his players and coaches. He’s straight up trash.
