The one thing that is universally accepted here is that Raymond recruited at a very high level.
Nnnnnoooo, it is NOT universally accepted here. I have given the secondary players that signed with LSU when Raymond was there. I didn't categorize by who the recruiter was for those nor the non-secondary players he might have helped recruit. But as a secondary coach, he would have had to have signed off on players related to the secondary. The first several years of his last tenure at LSU, his recruiting/judgment was fine. But as I mentioned, in 2020 and 2021, he screw the pooch. Out of 8 or 9 players out of those two years signed by LSU for the secondary, IMO only Dwight McGlothern was a good player. That is NOT REMOTELY AS A HIGH LEVEL. That is at a POOR LEVEL!

Yeah I think cbk would have hired him already if he was going to do so...If they are I don't know what the hold up is

I wouldn't read into it...

It has been widely reported that peoples has been hired. Seems like if raymond was hired it would leak.
I think he is the falk back option if kelly misses on 2 guys.

There’s no benefit to CR. He’s known for his Louisiana recruiting not technique. We already have plenty of Louisiana recruiting. Karl Scott all day!

Peoples had to inform his employer he was leaving for LSU. That was going to leak. Raymond doesn't have to inform anyone IF that is the route BK goes. BK has been incredibly quiet on the moves except for Bo Davis and Baker. The staff directory still lists Jancek and Diaco.

I have not seen your list. Maybe you could repost it with the recruiters next to it. For example, Raymond wasn't the guy coaching and signing off on Safeties like Langlois. Instead, he brought in Sage Ryan that year. This board can criticize how Sage Ryan has panned out, but CR wasn't his coach. CR's job was to bring in that talent over his other offers from Georgia, Alabama, etc. For example, you would probably criticize CR for bringing in someone like Damarius McGhee while ignoring that he was s 4-star with offers from bama, UGA, Tenn., FSU, Oklahoma, etc. I guess they all suck at evaluating talent too.

I'll repeat it in case you missed it the first time. He wasn't over the entire secondary. He was only the CB coach at the time you are criticizing him for his recruiting. Even then, he brought in the best Safety recruit we had. He also brought in Eli Ricks who had a good true freshman season which is impressive considering how shitty that defense was and what Ricks has accomplished since that season.

quote:yep, LSU officially has no OC, TE, CB, LB or Safeties coach...obviously Baker will coach either safeties or linebackers but that hasn't been officially announced, but it is assumed that he will coach linebackers.
