The people my source got his info from are heavily pushing Gilbert still.
If you needed further confirmation, here it is.
This admin is money driven and gives not one frick, not ONE about the fanbase. This info was given out to accomplish one thing: To make them look better and like they searched their asses off for the right guy.
Im disgusted. And I feel sorry for Ensminger basically catching shite from the fanbase because nobody wants him , yet he is being pushed.

Yeah - the guy is not a bad coach. He may not be what LSU needs right now. He may be a little old to start calling plays again full-time. And, we have bigger problems than straight Xs and Os in the offensive scheme.
We need someone whose full-time job is to get the QBs from HS to SEC quality ball, period. If we have even the 4th/5th best QB play in the league (no offense to Danny, who was very efficient and one of the best ball security QBs we've ever had), then the risk profile would improve so that the ultra conservative coaches we have feel comfortable calling the forward pass.
That opens a lot of things up. Unfortunately, 2018 will not have a world class running game (at least it cannot be assumed yet, improvements in the OL notwithstanding), so a potent passing attack is barely par at this point.
And we will have 1 QB with very mixed experience in limited action, and another with 2 surgically rebuilt knees.

Well, how would they feel if the fan base they don't care about stops giving them that money they're so worried about? They keep making moves like they have recently and they'll show up to play a game in an empty stadium. Guess we'd see how much they cared about the fan base then.
