I agree with your thoughts on Lane. His team still has a lot to play for.

But maybe he just doesn’t give a shite

Bc it is presently behind Bama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, and maybe A&M and Florida for desired jobs in SEC. Once Texas and Oklahoma join it’ll be behind them too.

It’s a better job than Ole Miss (presently), but when a 12 team playoff starts, wouldn’t you rather be at a school you don’t have to play Bama AND Georgia every year?

That’s to say nothing for the historical issues with your boosters. No signs to indicate that’ll stop.

think bigger picture. Upcoming schedule changes, saban on his way out, fertile recruiting grounds and updated facilities

Anything he thinks he can do at Auburn he can already do (and is doing) at Ole Miss.

They have less to play for than ND did last year. This is business.

So did BK and ND last year. Didn't stop Woody from snatching him!

Unrivaled fan support. We are already seeing cracks in Saban’s dynasty. Georgia and LSU on the rise for sure. Tennessee caught lightning in a bottle with Hooker and Hyatt their defense is terrible. TAMU has shown they can’t produce even with top tier talent and who knows what’s going to happen with Florida.

Auburn commits big $$$ to their football program and is a top NIL school in the nation. Don’t get it twisted it’s allllll about NIL now and that’s why Saban won’t last long. Not fair for him when everyone can pay.

It might be but within 24 ours of losing to Saban he has met with Cohen and got far enough down the road to be offered a contract? In what world does that timeline make sense?

I don't think this report is talking about Lane but I do think Auburn will offer Lane at some point. The timeline doesn't fit here.

Not that he's Moses with all the Answers but Josh Pate said, re Freeze, that there is a lot "out there" besides what is commonly known about his issues. Specifically "administrative issues". Any ideas? Haven't seen Pate as one who just likes to beat his gums.

There have always been rumors of stuff when he was a HS coach in Memphis. But it never became public.

And honestly on the MS State ruin Freeze tour, if there was something there, it would have come out. Hell one of their beat writers wrote a book on Freeze. He sold dozens of copies.

Cohen, the new AD at Auburn, was the AD at State who helped Leo Lewis get his story straight against Ole Miss to the NCAA.
