I hope so.

But, then again he may wind up as the OC at LSU in a couple/few years.

I'm not sold Jimbo would be as much at play for Alabama in that scenario. At least not as much as he once was. He did play at Samford and spent 10 years as an assistant at Samford and Auburn, but the bigger draw was his now ex-wife being from Birmingham.

If Jimbo doesn't end up at LSU, he's staying in Tallahassee long term.

I think it's Dabo and then "the field" for Alabama, when Saban does retire.

Jimbo with a young, innovative OC to tutor who will call the plays and Aranda at DC would dominate.

That is where you want to go with this coaching search. Now, Jimbo might not want it, but he'd be a 15 year coach and we'd compete for championships and recruit top 5 classes the whole time.

If you can get Jimbo, you get him. Without question. At LSU, it would be an incredible combination.

Herman does not scare anyone in the SEC. None of these coaches or players are scared of anyone.

LSU better hire someone with big enough balls to stand toe to toe with Saban in the living room. That's where his metal is earned.

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN...

Herman is not from South Louisiana and he does not have a down the bayou accent.

Before I clicked on the thread I thought this was going to be a case for Chip Kelly.

If Dan Mullen would have went to a non -P5 school for his first HC job people would be talking about him like they are talking about Tom Herman.

He's winning games at a location where Xs and Os style offensive guys have been winning at for the last several years.

Had he took his first job at a place like Mizzou, NC State, or Iowa State no one here would be clamoring for him this year

One very important fact that i have not seen noted anywhere, is that Jimbo does talk like north LA folks.

Jimbo is a Miles of a different color. He can develop qbs. He also routinely shits the bed against inferior opponents and has had trouble with DCs.

It's my understanding that Fisher has been handcuffed by FSU in terms of what he is allowed to spend on his coordinators and staff.

While i like Tom Herman and would be happy to have him. Bobby Petrino would or should put the fear of God into everyone if he was at LSU.

Please note i realize his buyout makes it a nonstarter.

This is reality. 0 would fizzle in a couple years and we would be doing it all again.

That is definitely one possibility. Another possibility is that Orgeron has learned from his mistakes "like he has stated he has" adapted his coaching style and is going to be doing exactly what he has been doing at USC and LSU. With his recruiting abilities, which we know recruiting is the life-blood of any team.

Well so far he hasn't got $1 million ever to go hire a DC.

His current DC O LSU makes a little more than $800k after a $250k raise. Have to imagine money was why Pruitt took a lateral from a championship team too.

Absolutely, matched with better athletes and a Aranda to hold down the defense. This is probably the best from an x's and o's standpoint, but would be a disaster for public perception so it wont happen.

Too bad people are fricking unintelligent, and can't read between the lines.

It's the same people saying that Les Miles was a better coach than Chip Kelly because LSU beat Oregon. A lot of people on here are dumb as shite and can't see further than 3 feet in front of their face. Oh no, Houston lost two games by a total of 13 points, Herman is terrible. Give me a fricking break.

Like nobody takes into account the number of spread QB's in Louisiana and Texas that would fricking kill it here under Tom Herman. The athletes that would fit his offensive system grow on trees in this area.

Finally, Tom Herman's players would run through a fricking wall for him. I don't see that happening with Jimbo. I don't see a disciplined team when watching FSU.

Again, Herman's offense fricking shredded Alabama. Every game that Bama has lost over the past few seasons has been to spread teams. Pro-style offenses do not work against Alabama. Just look at USC this season, Michigan State last season, etc...Who gives them fits? Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma, Utah.

But Tom Herman lost to Navy and Utah so throw all of that out the fricking window.
