Miles has been proven to be a monster recruiter and I doubt one class would make or break his decision either way. I'm pretty sure he would have really good recruiting classes at Michigan after a few years.

I think Les just pulled off the best PR move since Tiger stopped winning golf tournaments. Think about it...He really is a good coach and it would be tough to guarantee that we'd get anyone better, but he's never been embraced because we all thought he would jump at a chance to go to Michigan. Now Michigan has offered and he has refused. Let's show him the class that he deserves by embracing him as our coach and supporting him even on those rare occurrences when the shite hits the fan. Geaux Les and thanks for staying!

Yes! I think the guy loved UM and loved Bo - he wants that here at LSU. Who knows - if the guy wins another BCSNC - he will certainly be our Bo when he ritires. After Saban leaving and all the bad coaches before him - I'm glad he's staying. Geaux Tigers!

Really, I thought you said he wasn't offered? We understand your point. No one wants Miles but a few LSU fans.

I doubt he was because I've seen no evidence that your hero was offered. But I'll find out for sure.

Nice show for no offer. I'm sure MI figured, "hey let's delay this thing a few more days just so we can act like we looked at Miles. We don't need every minute left to get better"

Great theory. The winningest coach in LSU history isn't my hero but MI would be lucky to have the guy. I'm sure they don't care for his 11 wins.

LSU is simply the better program - ever think of that?
More fertile hotbed of recruiting talent.
Best football conference in America - bar none.
He can continue the winning here and become legendary.

Just like I said to begin with, they didn't offer as much or how long that miles wanted.

There's no way they come down here adn make him a ridiculous low ball offer. They may have been slightly under what he is making now, but I doubt it. That would make them look like they don't know what is going on in the college football coaching ranks.
I believe they made him a comparable offer to what he is currently making (through Bass of course) and he didn't counter. UM realizes that a winning program improves all elements of the school including admissions, licensing revenue, alumni donations, etc. and are willing to pay a salary that will get them in the hunt for an accomplished coach IMO. Do you think they low-balled Harbaugh? I doubt it.

I'd be beyond pissed if I were a Michigan fan, if this is indeed the case.

IMO, the Lloyd Carr influence has more to do with this than how much money was (or wasn't) offered and and the current state of Michigan's program.

I think Les probably let Brandon know in the meeting that he didn't want Carr looking over his shoulder if he took the job. When Michigan couldn't guarantee him that Carr would be kept at a distance, Les let them know it wasn't worth the trouble.

Why? Miles may have wanted a golden parachute to ease him into retirement, win or lose?

I never said it was low ball or less money than lsu. I said it wasn't as much as he wanted to make the change.
