Freshman QB’s aren’t given a long enough leash to make plays at LSU...ever since Jarrett Lee’s pick 6 fest in 2008, it has been very vanilla for all of the LSU qb’s

because one game or even a play can ruin them. It's a slippery slope. Playing Etling was always the right move

Seriously, people wanted to throw MB in there with a hurt Guice, iffy OL, and WR's that couldnt make plays.

That was under Miles. Shouldn’t scare O or other future coaches. And speaking of Lee he was horrible and so was Harris but we still managed to win 8 games with them 1 less than this year

what does losing to auburn do to our likely unranked final ranking? make us more unranked?

if there was a rift b/w O and Canada b/c of MB/DE, it's a bigger program issue than wins and losses in 2017

it just so happens that ultimately, 2017 became irrelevant

Why are we the only team in America that has this problem with ruining freshmen QBs? Freshman QB starting for Georgia in NC. Last year, Bama's freshman QB started in the NC.

OSU's 3rd string sophomore QB wins a NC. But, we have to worry about ruining a guy.

he asked who we would have lost to. I answered.

You’re using hindsight to justify your position. We were 6-2 in the West with a shot at the division heading into the Alabama game. Deeming our season “effectively over” after Troy to justify shutting it all down and playing for next year when we are still in the race to win the division is a ridiculous position.

Fine we were “in” the SEC West race. Why not go with Brennan after the Bama game when we were out?

Fromm had comparable numbers to Etling. Leaned on two 1K yard rushers

Cardale Jones was a 3rd year sophomore

Jalen hurts being a dual threat helped him a ton. And a defense with like 10 NFL players

not all situations are the same. Stop being lazy and assess ours. Guice hurt lot of the year. Shitty WRs. OL not great pass blocking. Why throw him in there?

Cause you lose your team when you aren’t playing the best players. Even worse to bench you’re tean leader. And I’m sure a 7 win season would have went over well with this idiot fan base

You Owe it to your jr & Srs to give the team the best chance to win. You can’t sell that to those guys, they didn’t come to LSU to eat a wasted year in order to develop a QB. This isn’t a video game.

Tell ya what. Every season going forward every time we have a less than 50 percent probability of winning the SECW we will bench all seniors and other players who are likely to get passed up by the latest recruiting class. Seniors won’t help us next year so no point in playing them. Sooner a scrub realizes he is a scrub the better.

This strategy is a better long term strategy and simply cannot fail.

That statement right there shows your ignorance of football. This is one of the best all-around classes we signed in the last 10 years

it's happened before. easiest example is when Staffy took over for their untalented senior QB

fanasy basketball league. long term deal. we had 5 keepers and i had worked to get durant and harden, and 2 years ago i was all but guaranteed a playoff spot in the top half of the bracket, but i realized i couldn't win the title, so i sold out so that i could acquire westbrook (while keeping harden and durant) to have possibly 3 of the top 4 guys the following year

not by the time he was a senior

and he had the same "semi-talented senior QB/leader" title going in. didn't matter and was a big deal for stafford's development

if Brennan is the real deal, we have 2 more years of him. about 1/3 of that time now is going to be "developmental"

he's not completely wasted but we're wasting a TON of his value to LSU FB

Where am I off from what you’re proposing? We were out of it after Bama so bench the senior starter and get the true freshman ready for next year. Do you not want to apply that rantionale team wide? Why not?
