“He’s one of us”

And I’m looking at you, Jordy Culotta.

certainly get the same vibe as we got from O's crew back then.

That said I'd be fine with Napier, just not as our first, second or third choice.

I don't get that at all.

Napier isn't cajun, not from Louisiana and coaches at a school LSU fans like to make fun of and belittle.

So...

Hell no. I fricking hated the O hire. Napier isn't at the top of my list, but I won't be upset if he gets the job. He could do well at LSU.

Who says this shite? He's not even from here.

No other school would have hired Orgeron to be their head coach, much less an SEC school.

Auburn pursued Napier hard, and his name has been mentioned for just about every P5 job opening in the past 2 years.

Those two are not really the same at all.

That said, Napier is not my first choice, but I would feel much better heading into next season with Napier than I did heading into 2017 with Orgeron.

Doesn’t this go for the Aranda cult as well?

I've literally never heard anyone say Napier is "one of us"

He's not even from Louisiana. He's from Georgia.

Hell Aranda lived in LA as long as Napier has been here.

Saban even longer, but nobody says "he's one of us"

You want to say people like Napier because they've been more exposed to him because he's down the road from LSU?

That's reasonable.

But I don't think I've seen one person claim Napier is "one of us"

Aranda is one of us more than Napier is one of us.

Some of us have been throwing that warning out like Jonah in Nineveh. It is eerily similar. What do you expect from small minded narrow focused people.

This isn’t a knock on Napier but an indictment of the cliquish culture that exists in pockets of Louisiana. I was raised there but have lived all over before finally settling in Texas. Each time I moved back, I had to pour on my accent and say “who my people were” to get in. It is interesting.

My dad was the biggest O pumper and I can confirm that I get like 8 texts a day from him about Napier.

That is true. But I think it is also true that if Napier wasn't the HC at USL NO ONE would be mentioning him as a candidate for the LSU job.

Uh no.

One guy is quiet, cerebral, humble, family man
The other guy is loud, obnoxious, stubborn, not a family man

You guess which one
