Orchestrated attempt to alter the coaching search. Local media were in on it. Time will tell but pretty happy we didn’t land him. Congrats Florida!

They realized with the O hire that it was possible. When you have a competent AD it makes no difference what the local sentiment is.

And get an “In” with the program. They were not operating with LSUs best interest. They were strictly doing it because they already had a good relationship with Napier and they would have full access. Media is the enemy of the people.

It’s the difference between a competent and incompetent AD. You can’t let the local yokels choose the coach. And this board is chock full of local yokels.

You’re mad at an entrepreneur for doing entrepreneurial things? You sound like a Brandon voter

Good thing he was on the show too. So when he takes his hard-on for LSU to Gainesville like spurrier did, you’ll remember that it was a mistake to not even interview the guy

Check out this poll right before Kelly was hired

2 to 1 people wanted him. Just amazing

Sorry you still have to have your YouTube show, Jordy

I am not Jordy but he more than anyone likely understands what drives people to compete against those who have professionally insulted them

You didn’t have to hire Napier but to not even interview him was foolish. You created a problem that didn’t need to exist by giving a very smart man a reason to become emotionally invested in your defeat. It’s really is quite a juvenile oversight by SW

Sorry man, but it’s not SW’s responsibility to look out for Napier’s feelings. SW is here to hire the best coaches. This is a business, and I would imagine Napier understands that. He’s the head coach at Florida, for Christ sake.
By that logic, should we give a scholly to every recruit who wants to play for LSU because they might have a chip on their shoulder when they play against us? Should we have kept Orgeron around because he might coach against us one day?

We’ll also mourn the loss of a BR media guy once Jordy moves to Gainesville

That’s true. I’d like to know if the local media pushing it were paid. I suspect yes.

There’s no ethics in media today.

Why interview someone that is not even remotely as qualified as the guy you are negotiating with?

On top of that, reports were that Napier’s agent was throwing out some ridiculous demands before the process was even getting started.

Media is supposed to be a purveyor of truth.

It’s not supposed to be self serving.

LSU didn’t want him. That’s the truth and there is no escaping it.
