But this is a Hugh Freeze that when a recruit's parent googles his name, they get a man who cheats on his wife with prostitutes, lies using God's name to back his lies, and then goes to the most Republican school in the country to rebuild his character. Momma's can fall for a good Biblical redemption story, but I'm not sure if his is the one they will like.

Nailed it.

So basically, Sexton played Auburn to get Lane a huge raise

The man makes more than the GDP of many small countries doing this to a few teams every year.

I’ve said it before- forget TV money, realignment, NIL and the portal. That a-hole has done more damage to college football than anyone or anything else. I’m all for the free market, and he’s done it all legally and above board by outsmarting cowards with too much money at their disposal and itchy trigger fingers. He’s the best at what he does, but that doesn’t make what he does good for college football. There’s over a billion dollars in dead money being paid to guys to NOT coach in college football right now (which will only increase in the coming years) and he’s been at the heart of all of that escalation since he first used Saban to aggressively push the boundaries of the salary ceiling.

Please be smarter than this. They didn’t have enough loose rally girls in Oxford, so they hired some during recruiting weekends. It was no for Freeze.

I would bet the house on this being the real truth. He knew if he confessed quickly and spent a few years wandering in the desert, he could eventually get back to the big stage. If you get caught buying escorts for recruits, there’s no coming back from that, at least not to any P5 program worth anything.

Freeze is a really good coach, I’m glad he’s getting a second shot in the SEC. This is a nice hire for auburn.

Freeze and Lane are friendly and Sexton is involved. Lane isn't leaving Ole Miss unless it's for a top tier job with autonomy. That's not Auburn. Alabama, Texas, A&M are jobs that I think would be attractive to Lane.

Which was two weeks ago lining up w/the "discussions for weeks w/Auburn" claim.

Considering they followed that up w/a loss to a terrible VaTech team they should beat and the fact that they are currently getting rolled at home by New Mexico State it seems like the Freeze has either stopped caring about Liberty or his players found out he was leaving them and they stopped played as hard as they did at the start of the year.

As an Alabama fan, Freeze worries me more at Auburn than Kiffin. Freeze's offense gives Saban defense fits. I want Kiffin to replace Saban when he retires but in the meantime Freeze at Auburn will make Iron Bowls very interesting.

Freeze and Liberty now down 42-7 in the 3rd vs New Mexico State. Freeze is for sure on the move. No way they get dominated by a team like that if he didn't already have one foot out the door.

Didn't Drinkwitz's team beat New Mexico State earlier this year in a blowout?
