Miles isn't here anymore. Know why he couldn't get the offense going. This is why this hire is so important and both O and Alleva know that. Their jobs depend on the offense producing at a high level. O knows the schedule ahead and knows he is unlikely to win the west this year with that brutal schedule but if the defense looks solid and the offense turns around and we lose close games but improve that may be enough to get an extension.

Someone with this on his record would not be a home run hire. It would be a very risky hire that would have a negative impact on the program. Guilty or not, in the land of public opinion, this would not be good for LSU. I don’t know any other way to put it.

Anybody can allege that somebody did something. Has the NCAA conducted an investigation and concluded that Kendal Briles encouraged or was complicit in rape? Has any prosecutor initiated charges against him? I really don’t know, but if not, it’s really not fair to conclude that a rumor about someone is true. But I guess I understand the brass’ reluctance to hire him in light of the Schiano fiasco.

I’ve been a pastor and involved in the ministry for 20 years... I’d hire Briles or Freeze tomorrow. Walking with people through their hell is what it is all about, not abondoning them so they can “learn a lesson”.

Take the moral high ground around a major college football program? If its so important to you then you should boycott all football as it is full of sordid tales and affairs that get covered up. If you really think being associated with a program that covered up rape is enough to make someone un-hirable then you should be raising the pitchforks for just about all these players that join the football program. Nobody is perfect, no one is without sin. Tell yourself you're morally superior, yet you are ignoring all the other issues that somehow is okay in your world. Freaking pathetic and hypocritical.
