He won’t get close to $7M over 5. That’s more than O’s new deal and he just won a NC.

At least Tennessee does sailgating making the row the boat schtick at least believable?

You're not taking "I heard it on the radio from a guy" as gospel?

Lol if anyone thinks row the boat will put even a knick into the SEC

Always wonder if a big brand school would allow him to put the RTB anywhere on the uniform or helmet.

We'll be able to get him. Tennessee will be a springboard to a better job, like LSU. Think Bill O'Brian at pedo st.

Wait wait wait... you're equating LSU with the Houston Texans?

SEC will chew him up and spit him out in three years.

Urban Meyer’s gimmick offense will never work in the SEC.

Saban will crash and burn at Bama as players won’t put up with his hyper demands for long.

Reality is another resume got hired and add another HC with a better skill set than O.

Why because he’s coming from the Big 10? Kinda like the SEC chewed up and spit out Nick Saban. The best coaches come from the Midwest..the players from the South.

Great hire
Not done yet. Past feelers into interview and then negotiation at this point.

Can he recruit in the SEC? We’ll see
The landscape would be similar to the Gophers. Having to sit on a kitchen chair while tOSU gets the recliner and Wisky gets the love seat; now he'll have to watch his prime targets go to Bama and UGA.

All I'm saying is that setting priorities and allocating recruiting resources when your not the biggest cat in the cage is not unfamiliar to him. It changes how you recruit, and how you evaluate over a very wide geographical region.

He'll have similar geographical issues also. He's analytical and statistically driven enough to source those areas. For example, he'll look at the most successful low 4*'s and 3*'s that didn't go to Bama, UGA, or Clemson and see where they came from. And then prioritize those regions.

UT poster in the Tennessee Hot Board thread said local Knoxville radio was throwing that number around.

Fleck made $4.6 million at Minny this year. Their buyout to him if fired was reportedly $18.7 million, not sure what he would owe them if he left for another gig.

But can he recruit in the sec.Same question LSU got when
they hired Saban. A good coach can coach and recruit anywhere. We shall see how good he is. I think Tenn did
a great job being able to get a real up and coming coach.

Anyone that thinks pj is a rah rah guy doesn't know shite about him. Sure he has the row the boat saying but that is much more about culture.

But pj is much more a recruiter and its how he built Minnesota and western Michigan before that. He also is pretty well known for being a damn good offensive mind.

But these shite arse comparisons to butch are laughable. Butch followed Brian Kelly around and just kept the train rolling and had never built a program himself.

Pj has now built 2 programs getting them better and better year after year, this year not withstanding.

It's a great hire by Tennessee, but I think a dumb decision by pj. But he will improve UT and depending on the sanctions, will have them competing for division championships in about 4 or 5 years. Hopefully UT will give him time, cause it will take time.

Tennessee is in for a few rough years, no matter what. That's just something their fans have to accept. Period.

But, they made a great hire for the AD, a guy who has a history of making good coaching hires. If he can pull this off, the future at Tennessee might be a lot better in the long run than anyone thought just a few days ago.
