I would think that he could do a lot of good things there. He knows the SEC, TX is a recruiting hotbed, Tubs has the contacts in TX now, and expectations are not really existant. I would think that the TAMU alumni are taking a let's see what happens in the SEC approach instead of expecting to win it.

What say you?

frick yeah

It would be funny to see Tubbs in BDTubbyS again. Gumps would hate it.

I think they would. That's Tubby's dream job.

No--try Jackie Sherrill + coach-in-waiting.

Tubbs is not going anywhere until his son graduates high school.

He's barely hanging onto his current job.

If I was A&M I would definitely give him a look. Say what you want about his recruiting at the end of his tenure at AU, but the man is a hell of a football Coach.

i am a big tubbs fan but i don't see how you give him a look considering how his team went into free fall this past season.

Perhaps when Sherm was hired A&M would have looked at him but his Tech teams have been rather dreadful. Hell, they were so bad that A&M tried to have a second half collapse against them but Tech so no thank you sir, we'll save ourselves for a WTF win vs OU instead.

No way A&M goes after Tuberville, or at least I hope they don't.

I think they would be making a mistake. Tuberville just seems like he has lost the fire. It looked like he checked out at Auburn, and he was looking for an excuse to leave. He was fortunate that Auburn was stupid enough to violate his contract and had to buy him out. His teams at Texas Tech have not played with the intensity to be competitive in the Big-XII. I just don't see the upside being worth the risk for A&M.

We didn't violate his contract.

We bought him out because we wanted to keep him quiet. Duh.
