For the NFL? Dat true?
Steve Wyche stated this on NFL network and that he'd listen if the right job called.

I don't understand what this guy has done to get the praise he gets

Dude is in over his head as a college head coach, he would be a disaster in the NFL.

I don't necessarily agree.
If he was a guy who could make a good hire at OC and play the CEO role, he could be a good coach.
But, he's no Chip Kelly who is going to bring some sort of system with him that he will personally implement.

Pretty sure his contract was on the internet and it was extremely standard. His buyout doesn't have an out clause for the NFL.

let him stay at ATM, we'll keep kicking his arse

His out clause is a $5 million buyout.
I'd be a little surprised if an NFL team wants to pay him $10 million year one just to get him.
After the 2016 year is over (including a bowl) there is (currently) no NFL buyout.

I hope he stays where he is. He is pretty darn overrated.

Sumlin better get out while the getting is good. His stock will plummet the next few years with no JFF to rescue him in close SEC games. He hasn't finished higher than third in his own division the last two seasons with JFF.
I figure he will get an interview or two simply due to the Rooney Rule in the next week or so though.

Kenny Hill is going to be a really good qb for him. Recruiting has been strong. ATM will be fine with him

How can you tell? Sherman's recruits are still all over the 2 deep. Even Sherman's walk ons are beating out Sumlins recruits at some positions.

Good point. Recruiting on the surface has been strong.

They won't have to, they would have until 2017 to pay the buyout.

Sumlin's greatest asset is probably his ability to recruit - especially recuit in Texas. I'm not sold on him being a success at the NFL level but I suppose it only takes one Daniel Snyder type to change the rules.

His greatest asset is the Rooney rule.
