UTexas gets most of the in state recruits they target. They'll compete against OU and A&M (or LSU, etc.) for a few but for the most part they get their pick of TX recruits.
USC is the school in a very large, very rich area for HS football. Florida, Texas and California are all much larger than Louisiana. The premier schools in those states don't need to be the only game in town compared to a smaller state.

Austin texas is a great town ill give you that. As to the others, Texas doesn't have any better recruiting advantages than LSU. Every year there are more BCS conference level recruits in Louisiana than LSU can take. Texas may have more money but LSU is still top 7 or 8 in athletic budgets and there's more than enough for any facilities and salalries a coach could possibly want. Just the other day one the national CBS writers, either Bruce Feldman or Dennis Dodd, said LSU was the single best job in the country. If a national writer with no LSU bias can say that then i don't think you can say another job is without a doubt better

Sure you can. LSU is no doubt a premiere job but there are a few other jobs that are its equal or better.

I'll give you equal but Texas is the only one you could make any real argument for as being better and that's only bc of the money. UF, LSU, Bama, OSU, USC are essentially the same level. OSU has the money and size but not the recruiting base

It really depends on what type of football you want to play as a coach. The UT job is pretty cushy for the reasons you mention, but the quality of football that UT plays week in and week out is not nearly as challenging as what LSU, UF, or Bama play.
I think those three teams are pretty equal with respect to recruiting grounds and fan fervor.
Many coaches might prefer to play in the toughest conference and have a big time game many times in a season, instead of one or two high level contests per season.

I didn't mention tOSU but Ohio has great HS football. That's a good talent pool to swim in.

Why on earth would florida rank ahead of lsu? Or bama for that matter. And Ohio has really good HS football and pretty much owns the state but hasn't it been proven ad nauseam these past 7-8 years that they're just slightly below the caliber of southern recruits?

In the past 4 years they have proven they can also attract the caliber of southern recruits from the south that are not available in Ohio.

It's quite refreshing considering that we had to deal with the prospect of Saban leaving every year. You knew he was going to go to the pros at some point.

There are no schools with openings, except possibly Penn State, that can afford him, especially if we win the BCS. Also, I think it is quite obvious that he is happy here.
