Former UW DT Alameda Ta'amu and former Seahawks runningback Robert Turbin are saying Pete Carroll will take over at Washington.

Would be surprising but probably a great move for a few years.

He'd bring in talent and be able to groom a successor versus hiring some up and comer with no gravitas.

Good for them.

Hiring a 72 year old is risky, but Pete's still got some spunk left.

Yeah come in as a 3-4 year stop gap to get up to Big 10 speed after loosing your coach... Could definitely do a whole lot worse.

He’s 72 and has been out of the college coaching scene for a while.

Not sure it’s really an upgrade. Time gets everyone

At 72 years old, you should only be hired as a greeter at walmart and home depot

Or president :/

I don't know if that's an upgrade. I guess it depends on how much there is left in the tank. He's going to have to adjust to a lot.

If so it might play a role with Carter if we are actually talking with him.

He doesn't even have to move, but recruiting is nowhere near what it was when he left. It's been 15 years or so since he was at USC.

No, I doubt this is true.

That would be hilarious and a lot of fun but no chance

He can pay players without having to hide it now.

Pete rules college football. He would be great. Cali and Oregon schools will not like this.

Idk. A 73 year old who's been out of the college game for 14 years. A lot has changed since he left USC.

Kinda reminds me of The O'l ball coach...Spurrier.

If he'd worked half as hard as Saban....who knows..

Worked out pretty well the last time he went from the nfl to college. I know the game in college has changed, but he seems like the kind of guy who could roll with it.
