Matt Rhule is a very very good coach. His overall record is misleading considering how bad Temple was and how difficult that job is.
His overall record is still better than O's....
Every time you think you can just get over it and hope for the best, some party-liner has another Orgeron-gasm. They were comparing him to Belichick and Carroll. They are pretending that Alleva is somehow a genius because other schools are hiring coaches with A BETTER RECORD than O.
There is no objective reasoning that says this was a good hire. This was Alleva's gut feeling that O would buck the odds. I hope it works out, but if it does it will have been blind luck.

but in no shape or form can you use what he did 10 freaking years ago at Ole Miss.

the sinking ship that Miles had us on after that Wisconsin cluster frick

this is what i don't get
for every other coaching candidate, the O fans said those guys either:
A) had no sustained success
B) had no big school experience
C) had lost too much in this current season
D) had to be perfect in order to be considered
yet they overlooked these very components when it came to Orgeron.

you talking P5 teams or nah?
So, you want to change your bullshite statement as the conversation progresses. Since Baylor and Oregon just made the hires they did, yes there is a good possibility CEO would have gotten looks and interviews from both of them.
Especially Oregon since the only two losses their team suffered in 2013 were to two teams CEO had beaten with his USC team.

Can we give the guy a chance? Jesus H. Christ! If he fails I will be the first to throw him under the bus but how in the hell can we continue each and everyday to not even give him a chance? We have no clue, zero how he will end up doing. All those other coaches would have been just as much of a risk.
They're only a hand full of coaches that we could have hired that would have been home run non miss hires and we know we wouldn't get any of them.

then why couldn't he get any interviews after USC?

Of course I can, its the only thing I can do now
You all are under the impression that we don't like O or will not support him. That is false. We all will.
We are more mad at Alleva than O.
You can think O was an awful hire and still fully support him to succeed at LSU.

baylor isn't settling one bit and actually made a very good hire considering their circumstances.

I agree with this. But Baylor's "home run" isn't = to LSU home run.
Guys like Rhule, Taggart are at least doubles. Nothing wrong with taking a double and seeing if your team can bat you home.

O as interim coach wasn't coaching his team
What was he doing? He wasn't recruiting? Wasn't game planning? Wasn't doing coaches shows? Wasn't responsible for how the team performed on Saturdays?
What was he NOT doing?

Sure we can give him a chance. The OP,however, is trying to make the case that people opposed to this hire are idiots due to the fact that other schools are hiring coaches with better resumes than Orgeron. Who's being unreasonable?

-hiring his own staff
-recruiting his own players
-running an offseason
-didn't have the real pressure of being a true HC
it takes a coach at least an offseason for him to establish his culture
quote:
Wasn't responsible for how the team performed on Saturdays?
according to tRant, no he wasn't responsible
all of the negatives have been attributed to Ensminger or Miles/Cam
only the positive are given to O
I assume it will be that way for the next 2-3 years as well

Coaching. He leaves that up to his assistants. He made the mistake of trying to coach at Ole Miss, resulting in the historically bad seasons.

You should know this, it's been repeated many times but you always ignore it.
