10 win seasons. How about that

Something that I am not very confident we'll have with O.

So you're saying Baylor and Oregon hired coaches with better overall records than the guy LSU hired..

He also seems to imply that Baylor and Oregon are the same caliber programs as LSU. Coach O is already diminishing our status, I guess.

Rhule is a great hire. I don't hate the hire of O. I hate Alleva screwed up the Miles firing last year, fired him four games in this year, didn't have "the guy" before the season ended and fumbled the hiring process by settling for what was in front of him. Seriously, how does he not have a top coach ready to take over BEFORE firing Miles?! And then doesn't even interview anyone other than the interim coach? Seriously?!?! Seriously?!?! I'm still upset about Alleva!

Yeah, Ole Miss was winning NC's every couple of years 10 years ago in the SEC. Coach O screwed the pooch when he took over that perennial top three program in the country.

He took a bad Ole Miss team and made it a historically bad Ole Miss team. Just because they sucked, does not mean they didn't suck even worse while he was there.

I'm asking all of you numb nuts. You can sling this and that around all you want. Answer the God damn question and a few kinda sorta did.

Would you have been fired up if we would have hired either as the head coach? Why wasn't either of those coaches close to remotely being on the list or even mentioned as the next head coach here?

Keeping Coach O?? No other team was trying to hire him away from us

After going 6-2 at USC while taking over for a coach a lot of teams are looking at who had gone 4-7 in his last 11. Going 5-2 at LSU with one of the losses being to #1 ranked Alabama. I think a lot of teams would be looking at CEO right now if LSU hadn't locked him up.

I would've been happier with either one of those guys over O

Fired up? Probably not. They would be "meh" hires.

Because we, for some reason, only had Fisher or Herman as candidates.

That is why most of us are so pissed about the "search". Alleva stopped after 2 and settled with O.

There were plenty of other options out there that would have been better hires than O. These 2 coaches are examples.

truth is, it was a rough year for hiring coaches. People need to accept that and that LSU was never going to hire someone as green as Taggart or Fleck. They need to learn how to run a major football program before taking a job like LSU.

So they decide on someone that's even less qualified to run a major college football program. Makes sense.

So you all of a sudden have a crystal ball? That can't be answer at all! None of us know if we would have let him walk that no one would have been knocking at the door, none!

You see the thing is Matt Rhule took a historically bad program and made them better. Coach O got progressively worse each year he was at Ole Miss and went 0-8 in conference in his final year.

So yeah, good try.

i love how people just look at the overall record and assume coaches are shite because of it.

look at the progressions of each.

Rhule
2-10
6-6
10-4
10-3

Taggart
2-10
4-8
8-5
10-2

Coach Ed Orgeron:
10-25
6-2 in the Pac-12
5-2 (6-2 with a bowl win) in the SEC

After his first interim stint, he couldn't even get an interview at Syracuse after practically begging for it. I doubt this most recent 7 games with one of the most talented rosters in the country raised his stock much.

jesus

look at the 2 other coaches and you can tell that once their teams were established and coaches, the teams got better

O as interim coach wasn't coaching his team

not even comparable
