It would be different if he had a decade of experience at OC, but he does not. Not qualified.

It’ll be Sloan. Kind of funny seeing people so apprehensive about him, yet this board was absolutely enamored with Joe Brady after 2019. Similar situation: young guy developing key elements of the offense, old guy calling plays as the OC. The key difference, I guess, would be the fact that Brady got way too much credit and wanted to prove his chops in the NFL, so he left for Carolina while he was hot.

Sloan is the reason Daniels improved to be the Heisman winner. Denbrock was hire because he knew how to run the offense Kelly wants. He did a great job too. If Sloan becomes the OC it will be because he knows Kelly’s offense well enough to run it. Personally, we need to keep him more than Denbrock. But whoever Kelly hires will get an offense with the potential to score 40+ points a game.

Would Joe Brady be an option? He could probably do great things with Nuss

Agreed, but he doesn't get there with KJ Malone at left tackle.

I would be shocked if it wasn’t Sloan.

that makes 100% the most sense.

Denbrock is the oldest OC Kelly has hired since he hired Denbrock the last time.

That being Chip Long and Mike Sanford are both young former Kelly Ocs who had success with Kelly and then less elsewhere. Both in positions we could easily hire them from.

Man talk about melt if Sloan is passed over for a clown like Tommy Rees and then Sloan leaves and takes underwood with him all while House somehow sneaks out another year

You do realize that Rees was significantly less experienced than Sloan when Kelly named him OC?

Dino Babers. What he did with Eastern Illinois and Bowling Green offenses were outstanding. Syracuse wasn’t awful, just never got over the hump because it’s in the New York boonies.

It doesn’t matter. It’s Kelly’s offensive plan, Sloan just has to fit into that.

It should start and end with Joe Sloan. I know he’s not a big or proven name, but the guy is going to be a rock star somewhere. Plus promoting him keeps the recruiting in tact and his work with the other QBs stays consistent.

Why? What has he done to deserve one of the highest paying, high profile coordinator jobs in the country ?
