Is that the one Kelly is waiting for since Alabama is in the playoff, and he will have to wait until the game is over.

I trust BK to make the right decision. After all he has a lot riding on it. He obviously is a better judge of who would be best fit. Part of success is getting your pocket picked. Saban manages to successfully reload annually. Lot to consider like fit, recruiting ability, XO talent ie football IQ in calling plays, developing and spotting talent. Lot of tangibles and intangibles. So even with all that said it is still a crap shoot. I thought it was the end of the world when Joe Brady left. After National Championship we lost both coordinators Jimbo Fisher and Dave Arranda. So just got to get back in the saddle. Rember none of these guys actually put on pads and helmet and go on the field.

I just dont care that much. The older I becomse the less I feel they make that big of a difference, great players make great coaches. Great coaches cant make average players great. Denbrock does not get 2 million a year if JD5 doesnt play other worldly this year. But many coaches would have looked really smart.

I respectfully disagree 1000% with you. It’s all about playcalling and execution

This makes no sense….simply due o the fact Kelly went and found him and hired him.

Exactly. Kelly kind of plucked him out of nowhere and he has said publicly many times how grateful he is for the opportunity. I'm not saying he wouldn't leave, but I would be surprised. Especially if the hire is a slam-dunk veteran play-caller, like Denbrock was.

That said, I have no issue with it being Sloan.

and execution
It is 90% execution and execution is 100% player responsibility.

Look we all had high school coaches that taught us WHAT to do. They were guys working 20-40 hours a week on their craft a few months out of the year. These guys at major college football levels are savants compared to the guys most of us can relate to....they are telling them what to do...the player being coachable, highly skilled or both will execute what the coach is asking.

Matt House did not become an idiot over night, his guys, for whatever reason would not execute what he was requesting. Todays offenses are too good to have 70% of the team doing the right thing, it takes damn near 100% every play are you will get exposed.

That is a player responsiblity. The wrong call run well with freaks doing the correct thing will always be better than the right call with freaks doing the wrong thing.

This doesn't make the point you think it makes.

Yes it does. The wrong call run correctly is almost always better than the right call run poorly.

The call is less important than execution.

People that think LSU defense had some magic call they could have run are delusional. Same for offense. Coaches coaching during the week means much more than the calls on gameday.

I don't agree with your premise. But even if I did, the coaches teach the execution.

Aranda’s half time adjustments seemed to make a difference.

I assume this is the old jimmies and joes vs X’s and O’s argument. The problem I have with that take is good coaches seem to be consistently good regardless of players and regardless of school. But if it’s really just the players to blame then it’s recruiting (also a coach’s responsibility) and we don’t seem to be doing great there either.

Aggie would beg to differ. They should have been a CFP team with their roster the last couple years.

Sloan would be my pick. I wouldnt be surprised if Reese came back to be with BK. Also the rumor about the Washington OC is interesting.
