Winning a SEC championship in their first three years would have been expected. There is no reason LSU fans should expect cheap results just because they went cheap on the hire.

Well at least the first 2/3 of 2017, then September and October roll around.

I agree with you, but I have a feeling that's not what the Coach O supporters will say. 30-9 with zero SEC championship appearances and a singular win vs. bama and Laissez les bons temps rouler!

This.

Same standard I'd hold the better coaching candidates to.

He absolutely, positively, does not get any kind of "lower bar" or standards. We are here to play for championships and win them.

Hes got 3 years to make it to the playoffs or win the SEC.

If he cant do that he will be thrown out with the trash.

I don't think there's a firm number of wins that's required - the standard should be that we're seriously in the mix for conference championships most years. I can stomach losses, but we need to be right there with the best in the West.

what does 10-3 look like? did we lose the SEC championship game? did we lose a game or two when our starting QB went down? 10-3 doesn't look so bad. If it's 3 losses to 3 SEC west teams for 9-3 and a peach bowl win over Ga tech, 10-3 is a dissappointment.

Next year is the building year. At most 3 losses. He can survive 4.
Then an SEC Championship over the next 3.

Continuity as pitched = no building year.

11-1 next year, anything else is disappointing. Look at our schedule. We should be favored in 10 or 11 games, depending on how Florida starts the season. @ Florida is going to tough, but it will be bitterly disappointing if we don't get them back for this year's debacle.

Until we prove on the field that we can beat Alabama again, I'll automatically predict a loss there. Hopefully next year is the year we break through, but I'll believe that one when I see it.

I'm rolling with O, but I definitely have the exact same expectations for wins as with other coaches. So, no...10-3 is NOT good enough. That wasn't good enough with Saban, that wasn't good enough with Miles, and that's not good enough with Orgeron.

Win all games we're favored in, split games that are toss ups/underdogs for.

Example for next year

BYU - W
Chatt - W
MSST - W
Cuse - W
Troy - W
FL - Toss up
AU - Toss up
OM - W
UA - Underdog
AR - W
UT - W
A&M - W

Gives us a minimum 9 wins, win at least 1 of the toss ups for 10. Same expectations for the year after as we'll probably have a new QB. Year after that should be SEC championship. Anything less and I'll be disappointed.

Building year??? There's no building year! This isn't Charlie Strong taking over Texas. The cupboard is overflowing with talent and we have a very productive senior QB returning.

I don't know, do you think Georgia fans are satisfied with Kirby Smarts first year and five losses. If O is that bad, even those of you that like his hire will be screaming.

I would say 3 or less losses sustained over 3-4 years would not be the walk into the college football abyss I am expecting.

We haven't lost to Auburn at home since 1999. We should both be 6-0 or 5-1. We will almost definitely be favored to win this game. If we're not, then the season has already gone to shite and the Nega-O's were absolutely correct and we should be picketing the athletic offices.

If O doesn't win the West in his first two years, he should be gone, especially if he doesn't win 10 games next season. The schedule sets up well despite what everyone is whining about.

LSU plays several teams that are going to be way down even if on the road:
All OOC should be wins - 4
MSU
Ole Miss
Tennessee
Arky

That's 8 wins they should easily get. If O can't go 5-3 in a down SEC next year, then he will never win a title here. Period.

LSU is losing a ton, but has coaches in place or it is O's job to get one (OC) that will hit the ground running.

I am fine with people "giving him a chance", but the leash needs to be ridiculously short with how much LSU is overpaying for his lack of ability to manage either side of the ball and the fact LSU is likely going to be shelling out HC level money to pay his OC and DC to cover his faults.
