Napier has put together a good staff so far. He seems to be molding similar to Saban in that he wants to make Louisiana a priority because he knows it breeds championships.

Dumb strategy, IMO

Napier doesn't have the 'skins' to demand La talent on the reg.

Florida parishes on lockdown.
NOLA on lockdown
North La on lockdown.
BR on lockdown.

Who is going to lock down Acadiana? No K Faulk or C Raymond on staff. Who will be responsible for that part of the state?

Smart coaches than can actually teach players.

I also believe that in the age of NIL, players will increasingly gravitate towards coaches than can coach and not just recruit.

No reason to ignore Louisiana either especially when a big part of Bama's dynasty is built on Louisiana talent. He already has established connections here why would he squander that opportunity? He doesn't need to raid it like Saban he just needs to steal a big guy here or there to make a difference for them.

Do you really think Napier is going to come over here and start taking high 4 and 5 star guys out of LA over LSU, Bama and A&M? I don’t see that happening without him establishing that he can cut it at UF first, and winning those kinds of battles is the only way spending time and effort over here will be worth the effort and resources.

You mentioned Saban’s approach in LA, but that is apples and oranges. He coached at the flagship school, not ULL. He won a BCS Title and 2 SEC Titles here and only picked up real recruiting momentum in LA when he won another one at Bama. Napier doesn’t have anything approaching those kinds of skins on the wall.

Great that we have someone to recruit Tangipahoa. That is one place that has been bleeding recruits out of state for a while.

Maybe, who knows. In the end if he wins some even just some elite talent here he's weakening a direct SEC rival+improving his team to maybe one day look at championships. It's at least worth trying to see where you get.

Mullen left their relationships with Florida high school coaches in ruins and Norvell has been taking advantage. The comments some of them made to 247 before he was fired were pretty shocking. Now Napier has one of the better individual recruiters of the last decade in-state, as well.

In my opinion, he would be a fool to spend time and huge NIL money here fighting for anything more than guys that we pass on or don’t prioritize when he has that much work to do to shore up his base.

I would say the same for Kelly and co next year, as well. They need to make LA priority 1-10 with E Texas next in line.

My 11 and 12 year old teams won the Mandeville Pelican Park Basketball Rec League Championships in consecutive years. I wonder if I can get a shot on Will Wade's staff next year?

This is a fricking joke of a hire. Absolutely stupid to throw money at these people.

Saban also works in Alabama so he has to go out of state a lot more. Napier is in Florida, arguably the best talent in the country in his own state. He should probably prioritize that.

Yeah, I'm delusional. He never has a roster of major contributors from Louisiana on his team or ones who end up 1st round picks. Smith by himself shredded Ohio State last year.

WTF? Is this your money? How could a fan possibly feel bad about adding more off the field staff.

North end of the Parish, because most there are just looking for a check.

The paint company is Sherwin-Williams. NOT Sherman Wilson.
