NEW: Things are heating up with Bill Belichick and the #Falcons. A source tells me members of Belichick’s potential staff have already been reaching out to Falcons to inquire about personnel.

Atlanta has to be thinking of this like a bridge hire to turn around the organization right? Bill is gonna be 72 soon.

They don't have anything at qb. He better trade up and get someone.

We don’t but we have talent pretty much everywhere else. With Belichick coming in I can see us getting a vet like Cousins and drafting a rookie QB

Arthur Blank and Rich McKay think that the Falcons are championship ready as constituted. They thought that last on when they made a luxury draft pick in Bijon Robinson at 8. They told everyone who would listen during training camp that they were in great shape, and several talking heads bought it. They still think they are a super bowl team as constituted, which is why one would hire a 72-year old coach with no skills at team building who will give you 2-3 seasons. If they want to keep on thinking that, more power to them.

Bro we're the freaking Atlanta Falcons. A consistently mediocre to bad franchise who once every 10 years puts up a team decent enough to make a run and usually blows it in spectacular fashion. We are an afterthought in the media and national picture

When you get the GOAT to be willing to coach, you take the opportunity.

What the hell do you have to lose?

Y'all do. Cousins would fill the void. He's more than a bus driver. He would give y'all a shot at the division. Mayfield did well this year as well. He's a free agent.

Also think I would look at the backup to Burrow in Cincy. He showed out too and could be available for not too much.

They have a pretty damn good roster actually. They just need a QB and a competent coach.

His wife is from here, Alpharetta, which is 20 minutes north of downtown. She went to high school here and UGA(Go Dawgs) and they live here in the OS.

Take that into consideration.

No reason for the Falcons not to hire him. Might generate some buzz in the fan base. If they get competent QB play, the division is winnable. The Saints won’t get better, the Panthers will still be bad and the Bucs probably will regress.

Yeah like I said above they probably have the best roster in the division, they just need a QB(Cousins?)and a competent coach.

I hope for his sake he doesn’t come here.
He won’t make a difference in this crappy org and it will further taint his legacy.

The #Falcons are scheduling a second interview with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh for next week, per sources. So with Bill Belichick in Atlanta for more meetings today, the Falcons also want to continue the conversation with Harbaugh, who met in-person with them on Tuesday.

This should be a no brainer for the Falcons if by chance they have the luxury of hiring either Harbough or Belichick. It's got to be Harbough. He's younger and has shown he can develop a QB. Belichick has shown that he can't win without an all-world QB. Having said that the Falcons will totally frick this up and hire some dude nobody else wants.
