Greg Schiano no longer a candidate at Rutgers, sources told @Stadium. RU offered 8-year, $32M deal, but it wasn’t enough. "You can’t blame Rutgers for not allocating more money or BOG for being concerned about his unprecedented requests,” a source said

Is Greg really in a position to leverage?

Schiano wanted money for facilities and assistant coaches. Rutger's AD and BOG didn't. Next up, Joe Morehead.

100% the offer got pulled and this is damage control.

Moorehead took MSU back to the bottom. At least RU is already at the bottom and he can only improve.

Supposedly Schiano demanded more money for staff, extra staff positions, and upgrades to facilities.

Moorhead would be a good fit.
He’s just not cut out for SEC. No shame in that, not many coaches are.
He could have a nice long tenure at Rutgers and lead them to 7-5 and 8-4 seasons, maybe even a 10 win season or two, and bowls in a relatively low stress environment (for college coaching).

Yea it had nothing to do with his salary, he wanted a commitment from the University to spend some of that B10 money they get, they don't wanna do that.

Yes. Rutgers opted to move up to a more competitive conference. To be competitive now is going to require ever more investment. They will have to decide whether they want to spend and be competitive or hold on to money and be a doormat.
That’s just today’s big boy college football environment.

Think that's the opposite of what happened. He pulled out and Rutgers went straight to Brett McMurphy and Pete Thamel with their side of the story.

Maybe.
It's possible the AD will get fired and Rutgers will hire Schiano shortly thereafter.
If not... Butch Jones becomes the #1 candidate.

What better offers will Greg Freakin Schiano have that he can turn down 32 mil. That seems crazy.
At the end of that 8 years, he would be 61 years old and set, regardless of success level.

UUuuum, no. He would be a loser there too.

If the AD and HC are not on the same page, it is losing situation. Wouldn't be surprised to see the current AD hit the road. And Schiano have some input on the next AD.

The names I saw this morning are laughable.
A LB coach and some no-name passing coordinator?
Hobbs has a week at this rate.

Rutgers just doesn't want to be big time.

He wanted an indoor practice facility... something most programs got years ago, in a place where it’s freezing for half the offseason.
Sounds like a reasonable condition to me.
