Don’t cry for Salt. He did this to himself. He failed every kid on that HC team and I have lost complete respect for him as a man. He went on a weeks long tirade just dogging the kids leading up to the St. Paul’s game. Then after they lost that game he went on another rant about how worthless they all were before he dismissed them for the season.

It was something he could get away with 20 years ago but not in today’s world.

HC is a private all boys school that hs as their damn motto "boys to men"

You telling me HC fired the coach because he was mean to the kids? Because he got in their faces and rode them?

If that's true... that means HC has become a woke liberal crybaby school.

The new headmaster is a damn colonel who was a trustee at West Point. How does a military man get upset about Salt if that's what he did?

If what you are saying is right... holy hell HC has lost their way.

I don't think that is entirely the case.

There’s being a hard arse and there’s crossing the line and being unprofessional.
And he did it in front of a priest. The story painted Salt as completely unhinged overboard.

Oh im sorry that a Coach held kids responsible for their actions...I forgot in todays millenial society..kids are the authority not the adults!

I wish Coach Salt well; he left a decent job to return to his alma mater. Despite his age, I would contact Holy Cross alumnus Hank Tierney to see if he is interested. I doubt that he would come, because he is doing well at Shaw. Tierney might be able to stop the exodus of westbank players to schools such as Rummel and Curtis. Assuming that Tierney declines, I would contact Adam Giglio; he is a young Holy Cross alumnus who is currently the defensive coordinator at Brother Martin.

Salt also openly bashed the admin at holy cross. Can't do that and expect to keep your job very long. Especially when the admin in charge didn't hire you

HC probably has more money around them now than they ever did in the lower 9th… it’s like they’ve changed from a working class population to a more upper middle class one to go with the new buildings.

Sportsline told me Joe Chango was a candidate btw… they could go in a lot of different directions

I heard a guy that worked under Napier at both UL and Florida named Mike Richard has put his name into app pool. Do you think a college guy would be good for HC?

Shades of Vic Eumont in the late 80's. Left a good gig at KU at the time to come coach at his alma mater.

I heard Salt mouthed off to Gallagher and he thought the HC alumni money ( Watson and Blitch) would back him up. Did not happen . Personally I like Gallagher he reminds me of Brother Robert back about 40 yrs ago

It did not work out well with Andy Canizaro as the baseball coach, but that is a completely scenario.
