Per Brandon Marcello
Montgomery is the former Tulsa coach. Hell of a staff Hugh is putting together

Is that a hell of a staff?

Seems like a bunch of fired coaches.

Doesn’t seem like a hell of a staff to me

Ron Roberts just got fired from Baylor as the DC by the guy he brought up as a coach

I don't see him and Freeze getting along together all that well.

Nothing about these hires are impressive.
Roberts just got fired by his protege and Montgomery’s offense averaged 27ppg the last 5 years…and also just got fired.

They may work out fine or better, as guys fresh off being fired sometimes bounce back well in the right situations. But they certainly aren’t impressive hires on the surface. They are the definition of retreads. But Barry Odom was a retread when Pittman hired him too. We’ll see.

Well, it’s Hughe’s choices so let’s see how it rolls.
OC is really someone bringing a different style of offense to compliment Freeze, who will be the main architect of the offense anyway.
Roberts doesn’t excite me but brings a lot of experience and his style if D has seen some successes. We will have to see what happens.

Another Briles offense in the sec. So now 4 schools running it I think.

3 schools will have defenses influenced by Roberts. Bama, no doubt still run mostly by Saban, Florida, Patrick Toney learned under Ron, and Auburn.

Do you mean staff from hell?

Roberts is legit. Aranda probably wants control of defense.

Let me see if I can help. What he meant by that was he doesn't know squat about them, but he wanted the hires to be a flop so he's just going to roll with that narrative whether it makes him look ignorant or not.

Great hires. Montgomery has developed the likes of Case Keenum and RGIII. Roberts has been pretty successful at Baylor; their defense in 2021 was one of a few to not give up 30 points all season.
