He will have a job as soon as the season ends.

Probably time. They have no identity other than CMC

I feel like he's a damn solid coach. Seems odd to fire him now.
He'll be a head coach of another team before next year.

Makes you wonder if they are gunning for a college coach, having fired him so early.

I think he's a good coach that doesn't know shite about offense and makes questionable hires.
Doesn't help their retread GM is garbage.

He will work again, maybe next year as a HC, but it's clear the new owner wants to take things in a new direction.
I think this clearly spells the end for Cam in Carolina as well.

It should. I know I wouldn't want to have to rely on a broken down pouty Cam if I was the new coach.

I think he could get the browns to the playoffs next year if they cut bait on Kitchens
He’s exactly what they need

I thinks hes a damn good coach. He will be coaching in the NFL next year as a HC.

will the browns admit they botched another hire?

Rivera is not a “damn good coach”.
He has three winning seasons out of nine and only one of those years did he win a playoff game.
He is a position coach that lucked out getting a DC gig (his first) under Lovie as HC and he is still living off of the success there.
Definitely wish the Panthers would have kept him around longer as a Saints fan.

He may be a good defensive mind. I’m not so sure he was a good head coach. Carolina had three winning seasons in 8 1/2+ years with him. Take away the 15-1 season when they went to the Super Bowl and he was a below .500 coach. May say more about the two GMs they had (Hurney and Gettleman), but I never thought Rivera was that good.

I had the opposite reaction. Thought they might bring in a college offensive guy to try and save Cam.

I wouldn't call it a failure. But it has definitely run its course.
