Riley or Aranda??

Who knows what to believe but one thing is certain, Dave Aranda is only payed 4 million a year. LSU could easy double his salary. A move from Baylor to LSU is an upgrade in every sense. Aranda was here just 2 seasons ago and could easily make the transition back.
Riley, on the other hand, is paid 7 million a year and Oklahoma can easily afford to give him a new contract to keep him. Oklahoma is able to recruit very well across the Midwest and will soon be in the SEC.

Aranda. All day.
And all this going on is SW’s cover for deal with Aranda. Wild guess though.

Riley, Aranda, Napier in that order. Start with Riley and get the one that says yes

I think both are Great Hires. I would not disappointed at all!

Can can they realistically get Riley away from Oklahoma? Oklahoma can be considered an elite college coaching job. Baylor isn’t. From the outside looking in, in seems like It would be harder to pull Riley away from Oklahoma than it would be to get Aranda to come back from Baylor.

Riley. Aranda was 5th on my list after Riley, Campbell, Tucker, and Napier

Aranda. He brings the discipline and the defense that LSU needs. He will also bring an OC here that will cause havoc in the SEC.

Riley - Campbell - Aranda
I'll be thrilled with any one of the three.

I like Aranda for a few reasons. He's brilliant. He's a strong family man. He'd bring great stability to the defensive side, and bring in something new and fresh to the offensive side. He's still young enough to give a school 20 years if he wished. He won't be getting calls to coach the Dallas Cowgirls every year like Riley will. I believe he fully understands LSU and Louisiana culture well, having already been associate head coach here. He puts together great defensive game plans that keep offensive geniuses (like Riley) up at night.
Not trying to crap all over Riley, but it just seems obvious that Dave is a better fit. I feel like defensive minded head coaches just bring much more stability to the program. Seems much easier to plug-and-play-carousel of defensive coordinators when your HC is a defensive mastermind (see $aban) than it is for an offensive head coach to keep having to find top notch DCs.
No, I don't have any data, and it would require a study, but that's just how it feels and my humble opinion. Dave is smart enough and driven enough that he's going to be a household name very soon, and it'll be at USCal or LSU.

Agree 100% with your analysis -Coach Aranda would be a Home Run Hire

Riley and its really not that close. Aranda needs time to grow and be successful at Baylor before running a blue blood program.

Anyone wanting aranda over Riley needs to rethink.
Riley has done it longer and is a proven commodity. Dave needs to do it a little longer before he is in the same class as Riley.
I’m not against either hire but Riley is the first offer here and it isn’t that difficult of a choice IMO
