I think people forget his time at LSU and because he left make it out that he sucked.

He got the following players drafted almost entirely under his development by draft year.

I started at 2015 since I wouldn’t give him as much credit for Mathieu and Simon ok the 2012 team.

2015: Jalen Collins (2nd round)
2016: Rashard Robinson (4th), Jalen Mills (7th round)
2017: Jamaal Adams (top 6), Tre White (1st)
2018: Donte Jackson (2nd)
2019: Greedy Williams (2nd)
2020: Kristian Fulton (2nd)
2022: Stingley (Top 3), Flott (3rd)

That’s not at as bad as most of you made it out to be.

He had some good years. I still say he’s washed and shouldn’t come back to LSU.

21 and 22 were atrocious. DBs literally didn't know where to be. Stingley and Flott did well in spite of that. It was bad man. Did you block those years out?

Raymond was the primary recruiter for Grant Delpit and secondary with Austin Thomas for Jacoby Stevens.

I mean i get what youre saying. He helped product some nfl talent but just because you had talented individuals doesnt mean the db units were that great. I remember tons of hands in the arm, looking around when he was here.

Forgot about that guy. I thought he was going to be the next Patrick Peterson.

I still say he's the godfather of DBU. I don't judge him for his last 2 years here when LSU football (and the entire world) was in disarray.

Come back home Mr. Raymond.

other position coaches were dealt the same hand as well, they went out and recruited high ranked DB’s. Raymond joined O and went on cruise control.

Ron Cooper coached here from 2009-2011. Every accolade listed in the OP was after Ron Cooper left LSU.

Tell us when you think “DBU” started, exactly.

Really shite the bed his last few years

Welch, McGee etc

Ricks was an Orgeron recruit and Stingley from down the street so don’t give him a ton of credit for those

You can do a lot worst than Corey and you can’t do a lot better, that I know despite what the idiots on this board say.

They are butt hurt that he asked for a raise once and then that BK didn’t retain him, not sure why.

Then again, most of these people are the same evaluators who thought Brennan, then Nuss, should start over JD5.

Tell me when you think it ended. I'm not the only one who thinks Raymond was the godfather of DBU. It was a popular opinion nationwide for many years. Google "Corey Raymond DBU" and see how many articles refer to him as the godfather/architect of DBU. I remember tv announcers referring to LSU as DBU regularly almost a decade after Cooper left. My point is that Corey Raymond was a damn good DB coach for many years here. To say otherwise makes you look like an idiot.

eta: Like the previous poster said, we can do a lot worse than Corey Raymond.
