In the BR paper The Advocate, Rabalais seemed to point to two candidates Woodward is leaning towards. Riley and Aranda. Aranda would offer the stability LSU craves and just had an impressive win. Riley has the 3rd best winning percentage among active coaches, implied he is the only big splash Woodward may be after in college, because the other big splash Jimbo, some say is a no go.

Noted Tucker’s stock is zooming, but no one knows does he stay or go. And Woodward would not put up with Kiiffins drama. All the others just don’t seem to be the hire for LSU.
He appeared to imply it’s likely Riley or Aranda.

Jimbo seems like the smokescreen to me

Ain’t no way this many people are talking about Jimbo, that doesn’t seem like Woodward IMO unless he’s doing it on purpose

Jimbo has big Mike Bianco vibes

All we need is Ronnie Rantz bringing all his old players on the radio for a victory lap

If there are any sources quoted in the article, then i'd say it's 100% NOT Riley. Woodward runs a pretty buttoned up ship, so if there are people leaking that it's a smokescreen.

Peterson

Anyone will come out of retirement at 55 for $100M. And my guess is that Woodward will only pay that much money to him, Riley, Rhule, or Jimbo. Those are the only ones worth 7 figures.

I would very much approve of this hire.

After what we've had for the last decade, I'll gladly take Aranda and his business approach

This has smokescreen all over it. If a .500 coach is your target, then a lot of people said 'Nope'

Thats a bad look

I’ve seen this said for damn near every coach that’s been tied to the LSU job. This can’t be the case for all of them and if it is, that means we’re getting some special teams coord. from a juco in Cali that we’ve never heard of.

1 million is 7 figures so only 4 coaches are worth a million

Honestly, it might be, considering the timing of TCU parting ways with Patterson.

With Texas Tech firing Wells last week, if TCU are hearing whispers Baylor could be open again too, they might have been spooked into jumping on the coaching carousel early.
