Outside of Ohio State, Oregon and Georgia (maybe add Indiana), who feel secure in their football programs, give me a reason better than jealousy why everyone is crying.

LSU football is about to be fun again.

Correct. I think most programs look at what we just did and realize they could not pull it off. There’s only several programs that could do it and most are jealous

It was an unprecedented coaching move. Not sure why people think it’s jealousy or that people hate lsu.

Everyone was saying LSU was broke.

Everyone was bashing Landry and the shitshow the firing was.

Some fanbases moronically thought he was a lock for their program.

Then we just big dicked all of it.

All this false moral outrage , mocking of the situation, and fake bravado is simply jealousy and fear that there is a very dangerous union that took place between a great motivated coach and a program with a very high ceiling.

Because logical heads understand. People’s emotions have them acting illogical and forcing some illogical narrative. Jealous is that emotion

Georgia fans have been melting pretty hard over this actually. I didn’t expect that, but I love it

Is it though?

Ole miss is not a traditional power and has even had coaches leave to go to other SEC programs.

Ole miss didn’t even make the SEC CG.

They had a great season(for them) but do you REALLY think they can be Georgia bama osu?

The only reason they have a “shot at a NC” is because of the expanded playoff. This is the same thing as a one off good season goes to a bcs/ny 6 bowl and the coach leaves which happened all the time.

It is literally happening THIS SEASON with summrall

LSU’s last two coaching hires:

Kelly from an 11-1 playoff bound ND (Notre Dame has never lost a coach to another school).

Kiffin from an 11-1 playoff bound Ole Miss.

Irrespective of how lazy Kelly got when he arrived at LSU, the fact that LSU hired two playoff bound coaches is something few other schools can do and confirms LSU is indeed a blue blood coaching job.

Of course it’s jealousy. Gumps in particular are short circuiting on the SECR…maybe even worse than OM posters.

This was the same sentiment 4 years ago. The big leap. Kelly with "resources". They ain't ready. This isn't jealousy, it's everyone getting their popcorn ready for what's about to happen, with criticism that is pretty well deserved of the entire process & CAA/ESPN involvement.

That Lane picked LSU over Florida is telling. Florida is a very good program, some would say equal to LSU.

The only three programs I think could have beaten out LSU for Lane are Texas, Alabama and Georgia, although you could argue GA is a lateral move.

Lane has never coached up north so Ohio State, Michigan and PSU are probably out. I don't see ND hiring him.

The only other school that might intrigue Lane is Miami. THAT would be very interesting.

I"m glad he's here. It's about to be fun around here again.

Very few schools could have walked into their "rivals" door and took away their HC in the middle of a playoff run. LSU finally did it, and we got who we wanted.

This is 100% it

Everyone is crying about "the way it happened", like that isn't actually something in Lane's favor. He cannot control the calendar. He wanted to see the coaching job through, and OM did not let him. That is not on Lane. He did nothing wrong here except want a better job.

I think it’s a combination of things. I think that there’s some aspects of it that are funny. There’s some aspects of it that are repetitive for Kiffin. And there’s some aspects where it just always seems like when LSU tries to do something really good it always gets spun into something horrible. I don’t know why. But you have to admit, there’s been some very funny aspects of this entire search. Especially early on. We just have to win games. And all of it will go away.

I do think Ole Miss and Florida are jealous for sure.

Very good point. I could see how people have issue with Kiffin’s lack of loyalty to a program, but let’s not act like 50% of Americans change jobs every two years.

He was there for 6 years. Without doing the research, that seems about the average CFB HC tenure anyway.

No one can because before he got hired by LSU everybody wanted him. The loyalty thing is gone in college football. That's what happens when you make something all about money

This is true. Not going to lie I was worried that Alabama was going to hire Kiffin after Saban retired. I probably would have the same reaction as other fan bases are having now if that would have happened.
