You keep saying this, and I hope you're right, but my sinking feeling is that Orgeron will be hired, unless we get killed by A&M. If we beat A&M, I can see Alleva spinning this. I have no confidence in Alleva .... perhaps it's not his fault, but the BOS/booster idiots, IDK. I think he'll take a shot at Herman, and Fisher, and if neither of those pan out (and I'd say there is more than a 50/50 chance it won't), then I think he'll hire O over a "tier 2" (Gundy, Fedora) candidate.

LSU has 100% had discussions with both Jimbo and Herman's camp before LSU lost to Florida.
Everything is relative. The question is about how far along the two parties are...not whether LSU people have reached out to Jimbo/Herman people. I tend to think that if we get either of those guys, it's because things are developing now.

The obvious answer is that Jimbo is coming to LSU but after what happened at the end of last year the obvious answer might be disseminated to throw everyone off the scent trail. Jimbo to LSU is, at the very least, a lateral move if not completely boneheaded. There is literally not one good reason, other than maybe a little better recruiting, to choose LSU over FSU.
This all bodes well for me because Im really, Really, REALLY, REALLY high on Herman. It could also be a complete disaster if Jimbo was a smokescreen for someone other than Herman. Like Fedora.

I highly doubt this, but if it's true, Alleva should be fired NOW, regardless of the outcome of any search. That would be a completely Mickey Mouse, chickensh*t way to operate an athletic department, and would reek of total incompetence.

Alleva wanted to hire Orgeron. I don't know how much that has changed. You guys believe whatever you want.
