Thats pretty damn weird. Sounds like he is the head coach in name only then, at least during the playoffs. Not calling timeouts? Not talking to the refs to understand calls and make/communicate decisions to them? No clock management involvement? Its weird

The last time I recall seeing a head coach coaching from the press box was Sean Payton, after his knee injury. Other than an injury like that, it seems odd for a HC to do that.

Yeah it seems like the plan is for him to potentially stay in the box for the playoffs since he's still also acting as the DC. Joe Judge on sideline for clock management stuff. Next year, when he's settled into HC and we have an actual DC, he'll be on the sidelines as the HC. Think it gives us the best shot at winning some playoff games - consistency through the end of the season

This sounds terrible and I’m excited to see it. It’s hilarious this is okay to retarded reb fans but Kiffin is worse than Hitler.

I have no idea what is going on with Joe Judge, but apparently he didn’t even want to be considered for the offensive coordinator job much less they head coaching job at Ole Miss.

The whole Judge thing is weird. He seems to be staying and is the only one with head coaching experience, but apparently doesn't want the gig or even to call offensive plays.

I always thought DC’s prefer to be on the sideline. Only the offensive staff sits in the booth

Except for that time Hugh Freeze coached a game from a hospital bed in the press box.

I feel like Golding could've gotten away with this too if he faked some kind of illness or injury.

Undoubtedly, but lacking a head coach on the sidelines for a CFB playoff game is astonishingly weird.

I hope Tuck Fulane beats the snot out of the PC Massa Wife Rebel Bear Sharks. Get it over with and let Weiss Jr get back to LSU with Smith and possibly Garrison in tow.

He probably knows its a no-win situation. Following up the best 6 year span in program history along with the mass exodus they are about to have. Maybe he has his eye on another head coaching job or wants back to the NFL.

Yeah, you have to think he's just riding the wave until the end of the season.

From a DC standpoint it makes sense. But not sure how thats actually going to work. But again because hes still technically the acting DC I can understand wanting to be in the booth but there are plenty of play callers both offensive and defensively that call plays from the sideline and have success.

Maybe he likes a lil alcoholic beverage. Sideline coaching would be difficult

Would prob be frowned upon hitting the flask on the sidelines.

Only one thing you need to know about Golding.

How many quality Saban assistants ever left for a lateral position?

He was not poached. He was encouraged to take the job,

The amount of talent he had at Bama along with Saban to look over his shoulder hid his real limitations.
