They almost hired him 3 years ago but went w/Smith instead. They were and are still very high on him.

I've been critical of Blank but he's covering all of his bases in this search

This is who Brian Kelly is waiting for. Brady is coming back to LSU.

I used to think 90% of the posters here had only 50% of the retard gene. It’s now showing to be more like 95% have 95% of the retard gene.

Blank still has to comply with meeting two minorities to be “Rooney Rule” compliant. Blank can’t meet with any coaches in person that are still in the playoffs and under contract. He met with Belichick, Vrabel and Harbaugh as that doesn’t apply to them.

He wants Belichick badly, but hiring him would require getting rid of many Falcons’ staff that have been there for 20 years. Blank isn’t the guy to have demands made of him and Belichick isn’t one to back down from his process. Seems to be a match made in hell. Either way, Joe Brady is an afterthought for the Falcons job. One thing is for sure, Brady sure the hell isn’t coming back to LSU to recruit, which he absolutely hated.

Desperation changes things. And they're both desperate.

Blank to win a SB as he's 81 now. And BB to win a SB, or at least get back to one, w/o Brady.

He is being very thorough w/this search, and I say this as a critic of his.

Falcons GM Terry Fontenot was with the Saints from 2003-2020.

Joe Brady was with the Saints from 2017-2018, before he made a splash at LSU.

There's known familiarity.

You don’t want LSU to have that Joe Brady offense.

All this makes sense.

They've interviewed via zoom several minority candidates, but yes I don't think that fills the Rooney Rule requirement. Must be in person. They are high on Mike MacDonald, as are several clubs. I think he qualifies as a minority.

They could try to make a run at him as OC when they hire BB, this is a way to get him in the building

Lol, no. First off, would you rather be OC for Josh Allen or Desmond Ridder?

Secondly, I think lateral moves like that would result in the Falcons having to give the Bills a draft pick or some kind of compensation.

He’s only been named interim OC

Not if they make Brady HCIW under BB.

Yes it must be in person to be Rooney Rule compliant. I can almost guarantee that most won’t get taken onto Blank’s yacht as part of the interview as Belicheat did.
