Absolutely. And was first to suggest USC was gonna make a run even after Riley's denial last night. Feldman has been doing this far too long to know nothing. We have no insiders. The famed 5-5, the 2 Jimbo searches, the OC searches(where's belowpar?), this search and we can go on and on. Our sources are usually wrong or easily bamboozled all the time. Read our message boards. Do you really believe just because they're boosters and staffers that they don't think and act just like our fanbase? They are our fanbase. Doesn't instill much confidence in their ability to take the p&g glasses off. They got played by message boards and now want to pin it on Woodward because their "white whale" isnt the same Woodward has been fishing for.

I don’t fault SW for failing to close the deal. I fault him for not thinking ahead and having pieces in place in case Riley pussed out (just like he did). That part is what the shite-show-everybody-scramble at the last minute is all about.

I have no problem with Woodward pushing hard for Riley, even if Riley ultimately played Woodward to cover the departure to USC. But there is zero excuse for not having a back-up plan to execute quickly six weeks into this process. If Woodward cannot stomach Aranda, Napier, or Kiffin, then fine. But Woodward deserves massive scorn unless his guy is substantially better than those good coaches, all of whom would have taken the job. Sitting around and waiting until January for Matt Rhule to maybe, possibly, hopefully say yes is not acceptable.
