I see O as a consultant somewhere. Close to the game, but with freedom to have a life. That said, I always wondered what O could have accomplished with NIL and the portal. He was the #1 recruiter in the country before all of that. Imagine him with an NIL checkbook.

he could probably make around a milliion as a dline coach and recruiting coordinator with associate hc title tagged on. which he's actually really good at. but kelly may have cleaned him out and he needs a head coach job.

lol zero chance he’s a serious candidate. With the basketball search we heard about Jans and the fricking UALR coach right before Cal was hired. I could see us interviewing him and intentionally letting it leak out/not caring if it does. Not that Yurachek is some mastermind but he likes playing things close to the vest.

Never underestimate what he and Ponamsky can do with a binder.

He will bring the Joe Brady offense to Arkansas!!

Pulling them, and the leftovers in Louisiana would make Orgeron State competitive imho.

Plus, with what is virtually a wide open schedule, they can be smart in whom they schedule.

Wasu
Oregon
San Jose State
Stanford
Cal
Hawaii
Portland State
New Mexico State
UTEP
Colorado State
Utah State
Nevada

They may make a bowl against that schedule under Orgeron.

If he goes to Arkansas, in a weird way, I'd pull for him there.

Coach O did win a natty, can recruit and he did put together one of the best teams ever at LSU.

Well that does it, I'm sold. I think Arkansas and Florida should get into a battle for his services.

As an LSU fan I would absolutely hate to see Orgeron go to Arkansas. You will lose significant recruiting battles while he’s there. Just being him back as DL coach.

Arkansas is not going to go from Sam Pittman to Ed O. They are basically the same coach just one is an OL Coach and the other is a DL Coach.

Pittman WAS their attempt to replicate an Orgeron-style approach. Long time position coach who was best known as a good recruiter. He would come in, be a great recruiter and motivator, while hiring the best coordinators to handle the actual gameplay.

Just like O, it worked for a bit. But when you are SO reliant on your coordinators you can't afford to miss.
