I would be remiss if I didn’t inform y’all that the Dabo Swinney buzz has indeed gotten pretty loud over the last 18 hours.

I’m not reporting anything save for that; I’ve heard eye-opening things from several credible people at this point. I don’t know if I buy it yet, but if Joe C were to pull that off, it’s instantly the biggest lateral move in the history of college football. Swinney owns two national championships and has been at Clemson as head coach for 13 years.

Again — I’m not reporting anything except that there’s some credible buzz. We’ve gotten to the point in this coaching search that it’s almost impossible to figure out what to believe and what not to believe. Nevertheless, it’s something y’all should be aware of, and it doesn’t appear to be mere message board fabrication. If it is a fabrication, it’s an intricate one.

Can you imagine if this actually happened

Sounds like Riley bs. What are Clemson insiders saying.

I love how everybody thinks their lateral move coaching hire is the biggest and best lateral move coaching hire in history

Well, how many multi NC winning coaches have moved directly to another school?

With Venables with him that would be the biggest homerun move of all the colleges so far. It's hard to believe anything off OU's side but looking at the hints, it seems possible. All the transfers, Venables was suppose to be done deal at OU(making it believable Dabo is done, AD leaving, etc.

This board was full retard when his name was mentioned briefly at LSU and people freaked out. Dude can build a program up.

I will admit when I am wrong, as I was about the Riley situation. But I am right in certain cases. No one can perfect.

I want to laugh but the coaching search this year has revealed to me anything is possible, and “insiders” are simply used as puppets by ADs, agents, and coaches.

I don’t understand why Dabo would leave Clemson for OU. Dabo dominates the Carolinas, VA, and can dip into GA, FL, TN, and AL for recruiting locally and he’s done well nationally the last few years. If it’s solely based on OU going to the SEC, you would think there would have been more smoke around Dabo to LSU. Dabo is a king at Clemson but who knows nowadays.

All the transfers,

If players are transferring out because they think the coach is leaving they would say so.

Also worth noting that Miami is trying to hire the Clemson AD. If he leaves you can get Dabo will hear anything OU and Miami have to say.

Dabo would be a good option for OU going into the SEC. He recruits the south well and has recent experience. Everyone is acting like Clemson is dead and gone because they aren’t in the playoff again as expected. They had one down year and their record is 9-3 on pace to win 10 with the bowl. The guy is a good coach. Clemson can’t match what OU will pay.

Did Riley leaving completely change OU's institutional view of coaching salaries?

The Jimbo and Mel Tucker salaries were already done before LR departed for USC
