1. They are fully aware of the rumors. So much so that I am told that they have reached out to some of the reporters stating things about Riley and LSU. Not with what he has been building and what he has coming in on the recruiting trail. That wouldn't make much sense right now with some of the issues surrounding the LSU football program." They did go on to say that they think it would be hard to walk away from the type of money being tossed around by outlets covering the LSU coaching carousel. Still, they didn't think Riley fit Baton Rouge like he does Norman and Oklahoma. Again, that is just there opinion (I'll give mine a bit further on down).

3. At the end of the day, I can't say that I am 100% sure Riley won't entertain the LSU job. The Bob Stoops retiring and shocking a lot of folks, including myself, has kept me from completely disregarding anything, as I have stated before. Still, there are a lot of false rumors out there by a lot of people stating behind the scenes issues between Riley and OU or Riley and Alex Grinch. None of that has been true, according to mulitple sources.

4. A prime example is the fact Riley and Grinch were out traveling and recruiting together not a few weeks ago. Does that tell everything? Absolutely not. But it also shows that there isn't a huge rift like some want to falsely portray.

5. In conclusion, could I see Riley going to LSU? Not at this juncture. He seems pretty determined to win a title at OU and to be honest, it's hard seeing a personality like Riley at LSU. Coaches there have different vibe to them. They enjoy the media circuit. They enjoy the donor dinners and media luncheons. None of those things are what you see Riley doing a lot of at OU and that's because he fits what OU does culturally. His relationship with President Joe Harroz, AD Joe Castiglione, and the admistration also play a big role in Riley staying.

Obvioulsy, we will continue to monitor this, but as we reported earlier last week, I'm still not hearing anything valid on Riley's interest in LSU on our end.

I can speak to this a little.

First the "reporter" is a guy named Brandon Drumm.

I'll be nice, but he's kind of terrible. Random OU fan who went to a help run a shoddy fan site and then 247 got desperate and hired him. There's only one site for legit OU news and that's Sooner Scoop.

1. This is in reference to Tom Luginbill. Drumm stole that info from a guy named Carey Murdock who runs Sooner Scoop (rivals). Anyway.

Basically, the OU program got in touch with Luginbill (or his people) and told Luginbill to f off because what he's been saying has been complete BS. The tweet from Ryan Brown (or whoever it was) has now been deleted.

2. This is mostly about Caleb Williams. When Caleb was being recruited, Caleb and his dad Carl, wanted assurances that Lincoln would be at OU to coach Caleb. At the time, the Philadelphia Eagles were in heavy pursuit. Lincoln told Caleb, and his dad, that he would be. Caleb and his dad have spent a chit ton of money helping OU recruit.

3. and 4. He's speaking on rumors of Lincoln and Grinch not getting along. That's mostly just fans hoping for the next DC. Fans are dumb.

5. Mostly just his opinion. He really doesn't know much. Like, for example, Lincoln's main loyalty to OU is because of a, now deceased, former AD named Donnie Duncan. Duncan is the real reason Lincoln made his way to Norman.

To start, I’ve been around 247 boards long enough when mods start writing long, lengthy posts like this, there’s more behind the scenes that they know but won’t come out with it because the melt would be insane.

This is the seed to soften the blow when it happens. You can’t convince me that there’s something else going on and he knows it.

I’m not into politics and do not see black white or critical race or whatever. You can check my post history. It didn’t even cross my mind as I have a multicultural family including grandkids. I was making the point from the optics and spending that much money when the university is hurting for money. If you’re alumni you are getting the same mail and campaigns I do.
