If Tom Herman couldn't win in a weak conference like Big 12, why would you want him? Plus his wife is too messy and dramatic.

Kevin Sumlin, has SEC experience. Recruits the QB position well except at Arizona. Defeated Alabama once. More than a lot of coaches can say recently.

Do you not realize that HCs are not going to take a job that is in a huge mess? Then probably will get fired in a couple of years or even 3 years. Then their reputation as a HC in a Power of 5 will be ruin. Will have to start over at a lower level conference. That is why Tennessee need to find someone who will be the sacrifice lamb when all the penalty on Tennessee is cleared to hire a good HC. Not when Tennessee is on probation and with all the disadvantage is going on at Tennessee. VOLS fans will have to wait about 3 or 4 years to get a good HC that will want to come to Tennessee.

Malzahn going to UT and still playing Saban every year would be hilarious

I think Herman would be a good hire for them.

honestly I dont think you get napier or chadwell. Freeze is out.

If i was hiring, based off needing to get soem stability and back to winning seasons knowing im going ot be on probation adn Napier and Chadwell are out.

1) Malzahn
2) Bill O Brien
3) Tom Herman
4) Bill Clark
5) Doug Marrone

I think Joe Brady is a better hire than those, but I dont kow if oyu can get him just do to probation.

Go down the list and make them say no. Malzhan took an auburn program that was struggling and turned them around. Bill o Brien took penn state when they were on probation and got them going.

I think you do all of that and hopefully it works out and you get 5 or 6 winning seasons and can build on it. If after 5 years probation is up, you go get freeze. He woudl come home unless its a very very top job and he isnt getting one of those in the SEC any time soon.

A guy who barely escaped Rutgers after Ray Rice left and the bottom fell out the first time? Ok.

He’s a good DC, but a mediocre to average head coach who had one great season in the shitty death throws of the Big East. And then fell straight back to mediocrity

Wow.

This is someone who doesn't understand just how historically bad Rutgers was before he got there and went back to being after he left.

Tennessee should have hired him the first time and they would have if they didn't let fans run the athletic department. Tennessee fans were so convinced that they were getting Gruden that they torpedoed the Schiano hire because they were pissed that he wasn't Gruden.
