Savvy choice that may well pay off for the Vols...and, in the long run, Georgia.
If DD wins consistently at Tennessee, Georgia will likely roll out the red carpet for him if/when they're shopping for a HC next time around.

I was about to post the same thing. Can you imagine the meltdown if UT loses this coach after a year or two???

He will restore integrity and class to the Tennessee coaching position

Better go read that story again, they changed it on you

Not over his head. Distinguished law school grad, coached under Saban, HC and AD at midlevel school and father Vince available as a sounding board.
Vols better now Dooley than with Kiffin. Great hire.

I've met DD and talked with him about LATech football before.
Really good guy, down to earth, honest, open, and blunt.
Hope things turn out well for him at Tennessee.
Sux for LATech, I guess the gamble in giving him HC and AD money was a bad one.

Not really, their Bruce Van De Velde - Chief Operating Officer - Deputy Athletics Director, is a really energetic person and great promoter. He was the "waiting in the wings" guy, and should take over nicely.
