Coach, not only will they pay the now reported as much as 50 million buyout, they will make him the highest paid coach in college football as well. All without blinking.

And then they have to hire assistants. How much are we talking here altogether?

They can pay and they will pay if he says yes and is first choice

Coach

They don't believe that. Nobody believes that. They may think he is the best coach reasonably available, but they know he is unproven. Paying an unproven coach gobs of money when you may have to buy him out three years later is how you start down a very dark path.

50 million buyout

Is that what a competing school has to pay?? No way, that’s absurd.

What makes him the best best? Everyone has success at Oregon

It’s a massive risk

Deboer will be the next head coach. Buyout is nowhere near as high. Supposedly Bama AD Greg Byrne has had his eye on him for a while.

That's an awful lot of money for a guy who hasn't won a Pac-12 title, let alone a national championship.

That's kind of the point of a buyout.

I understand a 50 mil buyout is not out of the question, but for a HC that's only been at it for 2 seasons?

Is 10-3 and 12-2 in the pac12 worth it to go all in?

Making him one of the highest paid coaches would be insane. I remember people thinking Michigan was crazy to pay Harbaugh what he got when he jumped there, and he had a much better resume.

I don't doubt that Bama will throw a crap load of money at whoever they get, I just expect it to be a proven commodity that no one even thought was available.
