It’s a job. Just like most people on this board have done, he would be taking what he believes is a better job for him and his family. When you leave one job for another, there is no perfect time to leave, because you always have to leave unfinished business and friends behind.
This is no different.

Absolutely. I obviously hate it because it's effecting the team I root for but he's not doing anything that I haven't done as well as just about everyone else.

There's a certain level of hypocrisy with fans(of every school) scolding him because he's doing his due diligence in at least checking out opportunities.

I agree

If there’s even a chance that he’d leave ole miss after building what he’s built there and this season being so good then he’s not what I would want here

Besides, he’s a drama queen.

You do know that he didn’t ask for this, right?

He was just rocking along and having a great season when two other schools that were not rocking along with great seasons fired their coaches and started throwing everything they have at convincing him to fix their programs.

Now he has to decide if they are offering enough to justify making the change while dealing with losers criticizing his ethics for having had the misfortune to wildly succeed and attract the attention of more lucrative programs.

The gall he has, I tell ya’!

Put yourself in such a situation and tell me you’d stay with your current employer without giving the outlandish other offers a second thought because you “dont quit on your team”.

Whether some of you realize it or not, this isn’t the same Kiffin that ditched Tennessee.

The lack of stealth hiding the family visit to Florida and LSU tells me otherwise - that's easy to hide, but it wasn't hidden and it's putting his current employer in a horrible spot.

They're the same people that wanted Wade fired because he's a cheater.

Naive and very child like.

Its part of it. Its a business. What Nick did was worse than this. At least Lane hasn't once said he is not going anywhere. But I bet you would have taken Saban back right? Lane is the best coach out there in this search.

It happens every year and you don't personally know what he is doing to OM. Maybe he has told them exactly what is going on.

What he is doing to UM is disrespectful

I do not understand this mindset.

One: it is not disrespecful! He is doing what he thinks best for him and his family and sometimes, in any career, there is no good time to leave. (If he even leaves Ole Miss)

Two: Why would you care what he is doing to Ole Miss if he comes here and wins at a very high level? If he thinks there is a better option in the future and leaves LSU in a better position (Like Saban did) who cares?

You would leave your job if a much better opportunity came along why can't coaches?

. Everything is rumors and speculation. Its is very possible he signed extensiin and OM and Lane are teying to hurt LSU and Florida in recruiting and portal.
Yeah, he and OM admins would do this and allow it to continue to distract the players during the best season they've had since JFK was alive, huh? And there's no damn way he could tell 100 18-22 year olds and word not get out 10 minutes after the meeting wrapped.

could easily be leaking from Ole Miss, Fla or LSU.

I'm really not all that comfortable taking a guy who is willing to abandon a playoff team. LSU can expect exactly the same loyalty thst Kiffin shows to Ole Miss.

That's fine if he's leading us to a playoff.

Meh Ole Mrs isn’t a destination program, it’s a stepping stone.

Coaches can retire at LSU

I think it's more about maturity than anything. He's extremely immature, just have to accept that if you're hiring him. The irony for LSU being you just fired someone who was the complete opposite personality.

Typically how it works.
