Nick Saban was conducting interviews for vacancies on his staff this morning

It was business as usual in Tuscaloosa this morning with Nick Saban interviewing several candidates for the vacancies on his coaching staff. There was a routine team meeting planned for this afternoon, and Saban was working up until that point when he informed the team he was retiring, citing his age and health concerns. The team, from the coaches to the players, did not expect that kind of announcement from him today, the first day of classes at Alabama.

Possibly high blood pressure. Ever since his hip surgery a couple years ago he’s had a woman on the sidelines that seemingly tells him to stay calm when he would get really fired up
