Not hatin, but I dont get why this guy would ever quit his current job. I understand that he may love coaching, but damn he's got a legit gig right now.

If Pete Carroll could get it done in college, so can Gruden. He would need to surround himself with college coordinators so that he doesn't overcomplicate his systems. But I can guarantee that he'd be a lights out recruiter as long as he puts in the effort. I'd like to see what he can do.

He likes attention, but he gets that in his current role. He also likes money and coaching.
I know a coach that he's spoken to - specifically about Tennessee. I'm not saing Gruden takes the job, but he is very much considering it.

Because he truly enjoys teaching football, which is something you can do in CFB as opposed to NFL

I hope the Vols do land Gruden. I think he'll do a hell of a job there and it just makes the SEC stronger. The SEC is the only conference that has the ability to lure NFL coaches (active and those who can easily get back in) to the college level.

Would be a HUGE get for UT. UT fans were by far the nicest away team fans I have ever met (sec title game 01)as a whole. I'm pulling for you guys.

Even if he isn't as successful at coaching again, he would still be able to get his old job back.

There was a report the other day regarding him watching film of a Tennessee game on a flight. He loves UT and it would not surprise me if he went there and coached.

I think he's the most over rated coach that TD is obsessed over. What did he do in Tampa that makes everyone salivate? He took over an already built team, and gave it the last push it needed to get over hump. He did good that year, but then the team slowly deteriorated on his watch.
For a "QB lover" and offensive guru, he didn't exactly do a good job with QBs or the offense in his time there.
This guy is the anti-miles. Everyone just thinks he's some great coach b/c he acts smart and is likable, but there's lots of evidence to suggest otherwise. This guy will be a bigger disaster than bill Callahan at nebrask. He's a better coach than Callahan, but thats the problem. Callahan was a disaster and easy to move on from. Gruden will show juuuuusst enough to hang around way too long and destroy that football program.
Or if he has any success early, he will be nick saban while at LSU- after every year, he'll be the first name thrown out for every open NFL job and leave in the middle of the night or leverage it for more money
If I were an SECeast team, I would love for tenn to hire chucky. Dude doesn't scare me one bit.

Well, it looks like you didn't pay attention to what occurred to get Gruden to Tampa, the salary cap problems Dungy left him with, or the drafting under Rich McKay. The same Rich McKay who just got demoted in Atlanta when they brought in Thomas Dimitroff in 2008. Coincidently, the same year in which the Falcons made the playoffs for the first time in 4 years.
