You obviously don't play chess. Inside information from an outside source is all everyone has.

Its Freeman. He and Verge are pretty close.

Not as close as Freeman is to his wife. If he hasn’t secretly gotten divorced, there’s no way in hell he’s coming here.

I’d would take Freeman all day everyday. I actually think he’s the better candidate out there. Love his fire and determination. Bring his qb and this program Would explode

He's spent his entire coaching career in the midwest he isn't coming.

I don't think you know what this means.

You keep accusing different people of "altering"

I have a feeling you are a very special little person.

Why would he leave Notre Dame? They have an easy path to the playoff every year playing a bunch of nobodies.

but here is what a couple friends have said in South Bend

I live in South Bend and my wife's family have long since held season tickets at ND.

There is zero chance Freeman leaves ND for LSU.

Zero. I'd quite literally bet my life on it.

You're getting a lot of hate and down votes in this thread (at least what I've read so far), but I've actually heard this possibility as well. I was also told people in the building really liked him and wanted him to come be BK's DC for a few years and to be a coach in waiting of sorts. I don't think they were going to give him that title, but that was the plan.

I'm not claiming to have sources like others, but those were just some things that I heard.

TBH, I think at this point, getting Freeman would be pretty decent. Not saying that I want him or that he'd do great here, but after everything we've seen the past 2 weeks, getting Freeman would actually still feel like a win compared to some other names I've heard. I wouldn't have felt that way when we first let BK go, but things have changed since then. I'd consider him to be tier 2 on my list, but he's definitely tier 1 over at LSU.

It may not be Freeman, but the "we won't take another Notre Dame coach right after taking Brian Kelly" take is beyond idiotic. Completely different situations.

Settle? What??

A&M
Louisville
GT
USC
Indiana
Georgia
Penn State

Teams ND beat last yr.

Thats an impressive resume imo. Lots of those HCs are considered high value names in todays vacant programs

You’re getting downvoted for some reason but you’re 100% correct. When BK was fired, there were several threads on here asking about qualities wanted in the next coach:
-Young and hungry
-Connects with players, players love playing for him
-great recruiter
-Expertise on one side of the ball eliminating the need to hire elite coordinators
-Success as a HC at a big program

Freeman checks all of those boxes.
