some of the rumors suggest LSU gave him a blessing to coach the playoffs. I find that highly suspect, but who knows.
Hopefully LSU isn't going to let important deadlines pass without a coach fully signed sealed and delivered, especially if it entails relying on people like Lane and Sexton to follow through.

mccarron said he spoke with some of the OM staff, none of them know what is going to happen.

Nor would they tell AJ

Why would he walk away from a playoff run with the #5 team in the country.

Because he wants a higher ceiling

Neal is grasping here. LSU is OK with Lane coaching in the playoffs.

I think he is going to do the same thing. I think it’s been his plan all along. Say nothing and force Ole Miss to act.

I said last week that it won't surprise me if he keeps pushing his decision back week by week until he coaches in the playoff and dares OM to do something about it.

OM is still playing soft because they want him to stay. The other teams negotiating with him don't want to give him up to the other teams. Lane will keep pushing this until he starts losing suitors.

So that he can go to another team that has the potential to do this every season.

There have been rumors that LSU would let him.

yes, will be very interesting to watch LSU if Kiffin keeps kicking the can down the road. Ole Miss only option is to eat a huge buyout.

Well those rumors are misinformed. Sure, LSU could "let" him, but Ole Miss won't.

If he signs an official deal with LSU, he's breached his deal with Ole Miss and they would kick him to the curb.

If he continues to flirt with LSU without signing anything, then Ole Miss has to let him keep coaching, but LSU is exposed to getting screwed over, and we would (hopefully) move on.

And as Saban said, without having to depend on the portal so heavily as he has had to do at OM.

Not if he signs after the season (egg bowl). Kiffin (LSU) on the hook for $4M to OM after this game.

So if this is Kiffin's plan, Florida and LSU are also along for the ride.

he’s not even our coach yet (if he ever is) and i am already tiring of the Lane drama. i get it’s a weird situation because of the calendar and that’s not his fault but you can’t tell me he doesn’t like this.
