Red flag manipulation like what Miles and O did repeatedly. Woodward will not fall for it. Sorry.

You think that being interested in Florida is manipulation against lsu. That's one of the premier jobs in football . Of course he's interested

God that’s funny. Napes is begging for attention from LSU

What's funny to me is that people here say LSU is a much better job than FLorida (and I think it is) then can't understand that a coach might prefer to go to LSU if the possibility exists. If I were Napier and knew or thought I knew I was a potential candidate, I would have my agent reach out to find out if I was in the running. I would also want to know if I am likelyhood to get an offer before I accepted an offer from Florida.

You’ve become intolerable. I remember why I used to hate you in 2008

Napier needs to learn the saying a bird in hand is better than one in the bush.

Florida is a top tier job. Florida with a down Miami and Florida state is an elite job. It’s one thing to have your agent to put out feelers to scott if you are so obsessed with the LSU job. It’s another to use your guys in the media to try to put the screws on LSU.

He should be overjoyed that he’s got interest from Florida and leave it alone. It’s not like he’s urban or Chris Peterson going undefeated and winning bcs bowls at G5 schools. He hasn’t even won the sun belt yet.

Odd choice of words there. Understanding that you prefer one job over another is not being obsessed. It's know what you want.

His guys in the media? His guys are in Lafayette and the seem to think that FLorida is more likely for Napier but whatever. The fact that one (or maybe two, can;'t recall) Baton Rouge area guys seem to be salivating over him is not putting the screws to LSU. And if Woody could be set upon buy local media types then he isn't who we think he is.

He should want the best job he can get, any of us should. He can do that and still be happy with the job he gets, even if it is not his top choice.

What does that have to do with anything. You don't turn down a job or settle for one you don't want because your resume is not as polished as someone who isn't applying for the job.

Man, Napier brings out more irrational thinking on both sides than any other G5 coach I've seen in awhile.

He will likely end up being a really good coach somewhere, I was hoping it would not be in the SEC if it wasn't LSU. Unless he bombs, of course.

seems the shoe is on the other foot now doesn't it.

On a serious note... this is how you get on the wrong side of an LSU coaching search. Multiple coaches get raises and extensions resulting from them putting fuzzy narratives out there regarding what we are doing.

Now, Napier is on the other end of that and not having his name as a candidate is hurting his leverage.

If it wasn't UF I'd say SW should throw him a bone. But I don't want to play, or recruit, against Napier at UF so let him swing.

Like him or not. The man can build a program. Coaching experience is very impressive. Good luck to him wherever he lands

He’s built the best program in the Sunbelt Conference. By far.

Napier had good timing at ULL but let's not act like ULL was devoid of football talent. The program lacked a financial commitment more than anything and it got that once Napier arrived. I don't see Napier moving the needle for the Gators.

Napier also has the either the biggest or second biggest budget in the Sunbelt whole being located in arguably the nest recruiting area in the Sunbelt.

Timing is everything. Better hope mullet beats our guy Riley Saturday or it could get muddled. If thanks the case I hope Dave will wait.

You realize you’re already melting over fictional scenarios you’ve imagined in your head due to posts by anonymous message board users?

No, I'm "melting" because two of the realistic good coaches signed giant extensions, the primary target by all accounts is at a blue blood with a wife who by all accounts loves the area and has already poured a bunch of money into a new mansion, Aranda is the favorite for the USC job which is in the same metropolitan area as his home town, Fickell was always a pipe dream, Campbell has never left the midwest so it's doubtful that he'll want to coach in Louisiana, I know for a fact that a bunch of TAF people have the exact same opinion Moscona does of "LSU will not hire ULL's coach period", and it's not speculation that Florida's private jet was in Lafayette almost immediately after firing Mullen who is the coach I want Florida to land the least. Aranda and Napier aren't lost causes yet, but we're not exactly far from a repeat of 2016 where our next coach is god knows who. Maybe Elko? Dan Lanning?

So could Justin Fuente. After Larry Porter’s shitshow, Memphis was a bottom 5 FBS roster with a beaten down fanbase. It was a coaching graveyard, with only one guy who wasn’t fired over a 30 year span, and he died and in a plane crash.

I think that job was more impressive than what Napier has done at ULL, and that’s not discounting what a good job he’s done, either. However, it didn’t fully translate to P5 for Fuente, though. They are different coaches, but there’s still risk.

His record in the sunbelt is good. But he is being compared to coaches with similar records in better conferences

The typical step upwards would be to a Utah or Minnesota before a program like Florida came calling
