Saban was CLEARLY lying when he said that. Tomlin basically just took a giant dump on LSU.

You’ve got some persecution complex issues going on

First of all, the question was in reference to the USC job, and Tomlin just made a blanket statement to all college jobs

Secondly, it’s not a diss to say you don’t want to leave a top 2 job in the NFL to coach college. It’s just common sense.

Are there really people who think Tomlin will be coaching at USC or LSU next year?

I can't think of anything about him that would lead me to believe he wants to leave the NFL and coach in college.

But muh Doug Whaley.

Can't believe so many dumbasses ran with what was clearly a baseless hypothetical.

he came across as kind of a dick here

is it too hard to say, hey its good to be wanted but no I am not interested? he sort of acted like the CFB world was beneath him

Because that’s how the vast majority of NFL coaches feel about the current college game. Dealing with boosters, constant texting and begging 17 year olds, now the free agent portal system. In many respects the college game is a pain in the arse.

It's Tomlin, same reaction Saban gave years ago

Ok, except Saban was at Miami for one year when he said it and Tomlin's been with Pittsburgh since 2007.

Most Super Bowl-winning coaches probably do think the CFB job is beneath them, which is why I think he mentioned Sean Payton and Andy Reid. In his current job he doesn't have to answer to an AD, a University president, and a bunch of boosters, not to mention pander to 17-year-old prospects.

In his current job he answers to two guys, the GM and the owner.

What choice does he have? I mean he was as direct as possible and you still have people who won’t believe it because Saban lied before and other coaches lie all the time

Well the CFB world is beneath him for one thing and again I’ll highlight the fact that if you don’t come as hard and firm as he did then all he will have done would be make the rumors stronger and a bigger distraction for his team on a completely ridiculous rumor in the first place

Sorry guys. Was a fun thought while it lasted.

This Tomlin shite didn’t float down from Mars. He knows exactly whats up! This response is either a smokescreen or LSU and USC didn’t meet his demands
