You’d think a program would snatch him up sooner than later

If Florida is smart, they would hire him after they fire Napier next year

The last former Duke HC they hired worked out well for them

He was to Jimbo as Aranda was to Orgeron. He’s a great coach and was single handedly propping up the total shitshow known as Texas A&M football

I want him back to replace Jimbo. Pair him with young OC. He loves modern offenses and knows where our skeletons are buried.

I was thinking during their bowl game Elko is going to get an elite job and soon.

He's a great coach. Was a great DC at Wake Forest and saved Brian Kelly's job at Notre Dame in 2017.

Great coach.

When a big time program hires him look out.

I wonder how many of the LSU fans down voting you know that Kelly went 4-8 the year before he hired Elko to fix the shite show of a defense he had w/Brian VanGorder. If Elko hadn't turned that defense around Kelly probably gets fired in '17 and is sent back to the G5 ranks.

So, what you are saying is that Kelly recognized a problem and fixed it?

Sounds like a great coach.

Regarding Elko, I think he needs more than a one year track record before we anoint him.

I think he’s going to be great, but would’ve been wary of elevating him to an elite job this soon.

Maybe so. Maybe not. All I know is that I won money betting on Duke (because of Elko) this year. The dude is a good coach.

Mikes my cousin, knowing him, I think he stays at Duke awhile and builds a winner.

He stayed at atm as long as he did because he promised his oldest son that he would get to graduate high school in college station.

He had numerous opportunities to take other jobs in college and in the nfl.

I am a Duke football fan (we exist) and I've heard he loves it in Durham and will likely stick around as long as he continues to receive the support he needs from the administration.

He worked wonders this year. Cutcliffe actually left behind a decent roster, but it hadn't been coached up well at all his last few years. Excited to see where Elko can take us going forward.

That’s fantastic news. I was stunned Duke landed him last year and would be amazing if he stays at Duke for more than a year or two.

I was at a bar this year arguing with one of you over watching your shitty game or the iron bowl. The iron bowl won out

Elko doesn’t strike me as the type to jump ship at the first opportunity. I think he’ll take the Luke Fickell route and really be selective with his opportunities. He could be there for the next 7-8 years.

One thing about Kelly- he can definitely pick DCs. Elko, Lea and Freeman were all great coordinators and became head coaches and House is off to a good start.

Is he any relation to former LSU D-lineman Bill Elko? That dude was a savage.

Michigan should have him on speed dial if Harbaugh leaves for the NFL.

Just wait and see what opens up this season, if Harbaugh leaves, Elko could certainly be an option. Not to mention, Texas, Florida, and A&M, next season, if they all underperform again. If he has a season similar to this at Duke, next season, he’ll be a top commodity.
