no idea why he'd turn that one down. Looks like Frost wanted a piece of this offense.

I think he genuinely loves LA and may be WR’s coach by himself. Munoz promoted to CO-OC and passing game coordinator.

I mean if he was, in fact, offered, he must’ve impressed a little bit.

You don't turn down an offer like that unless LSU had a counter offer of a better title or more money.

Or he thinks he wasn't ready for that role yet.

I'd guess now that he's the ONLY WR coach on staff, and with Chase, Marshall, Boutte, and Gilbert in 2020 next years passing attack will be just as prolific. Meaning Mickey get the credit not Brady, and he springboards that into something greater than Nebraska down the road.

People turn down promotions all the time- maybe he didn't like the fit or he didn't want to move from Louisiana at this time.

That's crazy. He's not going to get that job at LSU.

If Nebraska offered, it’s probably as much for his recruiting ability as his coaching. Peveto is a terrible coach but has always been a good recruiter. That’s how he lasted so long in this business.

Exactly. He's clearly in line for a promotion of some sort.

On the other hand, maybe he considered how Scott Frost turned his nose up at the chance to land Joe Burrow and thought, "this guy isn't the horse I want to hitch my wagon to next."

He's not.

I'm just of the belief that you need to take a big promotion when it's offered. Get in the boat and row like crazy, work your arse off.

His biggest skill is recruiting in New Orleans. That’s hard to do in Nebraska.

Plus in Nebraka he’d probably have even less of a say in the offense than he currently does because that’s Scott frosts show.

And it’s not a guarantee that they offered him more money or much more money. If he’s in line to make similar money doing what he’s doing in a great situation, then that might be more appealing than uprooting for a Nebraska team who is probably one more rough season away from making that Frost coaching seat pretty warm

Not all job titles are created equally.

We think Joe Brady as a passing game coordinator as basically the OC

Most schools give that title ceremoniously as a way of keeping guys or enticing guys to take the job. But given the structure of their coaching staff, I doubt he has any real input in the offense.

Let's be honest. Mickey's job (regardless of formal title) is "recruiter of New Orleans area players). When there was potential talk of Frank Wilson joining the staff (who is also a "recruiter of New Orleans area players) Joseph's role may have been redundant. But with Wilson going to McNeese, LSU still needs Joseph.

To be fair, Nebraska had 4 scholarship QBs when Burrow transferred, including Adrian Martinez and another 4 star freshman. There wasn’t room, and bringing Burrow in might guarantee you lose both your freshman that were the clear two front runners to start. Burrow is better utilized in a downfield passing attack, Nebraska is a short field pass and QB run offense

But going back to Mickey, kind of weird that Nebraska still hasn’t announced they fired their OC and are offering coaches spots they don’t have lol. Just announce Walters is gone, reports earlier in the week said his office was already cleared
